They said to use 12 steps per flight, so if you have 2 flights per floor then 24 per floor or adjust to how many flights are in each of your floors.0 -
Can't you just count them?0
-
They did say its about 73 flights.

It's swollen and hurts.. But hopefully it's not broken.. Can still walk (like a penguin) and move the toe a little. Trying to figure out which cardio exercises I can manage to do with that to be able to gather some minutes. Kickboxing is out for this week.
Think the stationary bike will be manageable to get minutes and I can swim I think. But the stairs and walking challenge is probably out..
For the beans - do you think a read bean bun (bun filled with sweet red bean paste) counts for beans?
Hope you're feeling better! Red bean bun sounds perfect!0 -

The number of steps per flight or per floor varies a little bit. Someone mentioned 12, but at my work it was only 10 steps per flight or 20 per floor. It is hard to know how many steps the Fitbit thinks are in a floor, but I would say you were close to halfway to the goal.

I did yesterday and it was about 1356 steps, with yesterday's 11 floors. One of our floors (only one flight) at work has 44 steps, and Fitbit counted that as one which was quite interesting.0 -

I'm having a tough time with he spreadsheet. Can someone enter my minutes for the week so far?
Monday: 160
Tuesday: 200
Wednesday: 95
Thursday: 145
I have to sync my Garmin to check my miles, but I definitely should have 13.1 complete by the end of the week, unless it all has to be done in one shot?0 -

Got you covered... the 13.1 doesn't have to be done in one shot, but they said you shouldn't use fitness trackers to estimate the mileage since they can be somewhat inaccurate, so should use some sort of GPS tracking, etc. Not sure if the Garmin would be different or not since I'm sure it has a GPS function to it as well.0 -
I had my Ortho appointment this morning and the Dr says I have Bursitis which I think sounds like something an old man should have not me
Anyway he gave me a cortisone shot and prescribed stronger anti-inflammatory meds than I am currently on and I start physical therapy on July 11th.
I'm going to take at least the next 2 weeks off with no running ( I had already downgraded to very low mileage the last 4 weeks due to the pain) and have up to 4 weeks until I have to be back in training mode to be race ready for September. So fingers-crossed all this will work.
I am cleared to use the elliptical, stationary bike, weight lifting etc... so I'll still be getting my minutes and I'm going to look into pool running.
I'll knock out the remainder of my stairs challenge today and will complete the 13.1 challenge by Friday.
Have a great day everyone!3 -
@ highlandsho. I admire your such dedication to the group hope you get some relief from the meds.1

We have to remember to check the Team 5 Game thread, and not just this private one, for game announcements etc. Also, I believe the bean challenge requirements want us to post there, as many have.0

This one just came out on the Team thread. I know some on our team have claimed points, but didn't post. We don't want to lose those points!
Also, If you're going to any picnics this weekend, try to eat something with beans! Even peanuts count! Just remember to post it, on the Main Thread.

Thank you so much!
The Garmin is pretty accurate. I've run with Map My Fitness going at the same time as my fitness tracker and had it come up with the same mileage to the hundredth of a mile. It asks you your height and stide and factors in your velocity when figuring out our distance. Very handy device. Been using it every day for a year and a half. I typically get 5-8 miles a day with my regular activities.

Hi Everyone.. Just had a look at the spreadsheet - Wow some of you make so many minutes of exercise
Please tell me how you manage that - When I did the 120min last week in on go (during the week) I couldn't (or better didn't want to since it was late) do anything else anymore that evening... I feel like I'm totally unable to manage job, sport and any other things at the same day.. So please share your wise management skills with this young Padawan...0 -
