What's your guess?

I ordered a bourbon chicken sandwich at TGI Friday's. No bun. No mayo. Raw onion. I looked it up after I ordered...The normal sandwich is 1220 cal, 110 carbs, 2 fiber. I ate less than half the chicken, the bacon, tomato slice, one piece of onion, and three pickle chips....have no idea how to log it. Veggies/bacon are easy enough. But the chicken? There was some weird sweet sauce on the chicken which is why I didn't eat it. Sigh....

Bourbon chicken when I make it at home is ridiculously sweet. it has brown sugar, ketchup, apple juice, and other stuff in it, too.
If the bun was a 5" bun, I'd look up some numbers on that and subtract it out (20-50 grams, usually, depending on the size/ingredients), then ballpark the veggies you didn't eat, and calculate out half. You're probably looking at 30-50 grams of carbs, I think... Go for a quick walk to burn through any of those sugary carbs and you'll be fine.0 -
Does not realizing it would be filled with sugar make me an idiot our just naive0

I think it just makes you unfamiliar with a menu item. Maybe next time, if you can't check out the menu in advance, ask what is "diabetic friendly" and or "gluten-free." Those are typically lower in SUGAR and basic carbs, and you should be able to avoid normal things you know about.
The fact is, if we can't look up a menu, all we can do is make an educated guess. You did what you could - and when you realized how sweet it was, you stopped yourself. That's about as reasonable a choice as you could have made in that situation.
For me, if in doubt, I try to do a shell-less taco salad, fajitas without rice/beans/tortilla, a bunless burger, or something like that...steak with broccoli, things that they can't really screw up too much.3 -
I eat out at least 6-8 times a week and have had chicken like that, usually I go into the ladies room and really rinse it off with hot water. This won't happen often, and usually I remember to request plain....plain meats and extra pickles.
You did fine and are likely still in ketosis.

Google is your friend You'd be surprised what you find when you just start typing in what you just said!
What do I mean?
Sometimes, you may find someone has logged it elsewhere, and that someone modified it for dietary reasons or preferences, so Google it! I just did a Google search for "bourbon chicken sandwich TGI Friday's no bun no mayo" and found this:

I wish more restaurants had menus like Red Robin. Their menu is one where you can customize your meal. Take off what you want, add what you want, and it will recalculate the nutrition information. Probably the most accurate way if eating out, since you can't weigh what you order.2
