Bone broth

Something that was important to me when I was paleo is transferring over to the new keto me.
Grass fed beef bone broth. Very simple to make.
Grass fed bones, carrots, and celery cooked with water in a crock pot for 24 hours.
Will hopefully be something I can keep down during chemo weeks.

You do need a dash of apple cider vinegar to leach out the marrow and nutrients inside the bones. Forgot to mention that.3

I've heard so many benefits of bone broth. Is this a meal in itself or is it a base for a soup? What do you eat it with?0

I use it in stews and drink it by itself when I start to feel ill.
ETA: Soups would be good too.0 -
I just ordered a pressure cooker so that I can make this stuff in an hour or two!1

I have some simmering in my crock pot right now. It's the first time I have made it. I didn't know about the ACV...thank you, I'll add some when I get home!0

Any particular bones you use for the broth?1

I just tried mine and it made me gag. Is it supposed to taste gross or like beef broth....which I love. But this has a funny taste...0

You have to skim it after it is done. The ACV is put on the bones 30 mins before adding water, celery, carrots, salt, etc. Boil for 45 mins, then simmer for 24-48 hours. While broth is boiling and simmering, skim several times. Also, add more salt, if too bland. If it doesn't set up as a gel when it cools, there was either too much water or you didn't simmer long enough.
