Cystic acne is middle age. Yuck!

I guess I should be happy that I had clear skin most of my life. I'm going to see a dermatologist, not that I hold out much hope that she can help me without invasive medication ....

Presumably it's hormones.

    Probably likely, the things we have to go through. Maybe you should be careful with your diet too, although don't know what types of food you are eating.

    I have had more acne in the last 2 years than I ever did as a teen. UGH.

    Did you try Witch hazel?
    Get the inexpensive one at Walmart, cotton pads or washcloth and wipe your face once or twice a day.
    Don't know about cystic acne, but it won't hurt.

    My skin is pretty sensitive and I'm not supposed to put a bunch of things on it. Anyway, long story short, I saw my dermatologist. Gave me a wash and 2 new creams. Says it'll probably even out as my menopausal hormones stop fluctuating.
