Plant based eating

Anyone have any input on plant-based eating? I am not much of a meat eater at all and mostly eat chicken for my protein. In doing my research for fitness I have only searched and read scientific evidence based research on nutrition. Many of the medical professionals recommend a plant based diet. While I am unsure if I would ever want to go full vegan, the topic really does interest me. I have been reading many of the studies on this website:

I could do it only if ribs, brisket, bacon, and such grow on plants.

I think plant-based eating is very interesting. I have a couple of cookbooks and have tried some recipes. My problem is my husband thinks meat is the ONLY food group. Have you watched the documentary Forks over Knives? It's good!

I haven't seen it yet. Is it on Netflix? I am not much of a beef eater. I do love pork, bacon, and most seafood though. I used to eat way more vegetables than meat. Problem was though that they were drenched in either butter or cheese sauce or both.
