I have finally run out of sizes in my closet to 'shop' in. My pants were looking like MC Hammer.
I haven't seen this number on the scale in over 20 years, so I didn't keep any clothes from then. That was when I reached my lowest adult weight (still not goal, though). That's about 25 pounds from where I am now. Feeling very sanguine about that happening before end of the year.

There is no feeling quite like reaching a low weight to where you go below any mark that you previously knew as your reality.
Super excited and very happy for you. Congrats!0 -

Awesome Murple! Keep up the good work!0

BTW, sort of glad you opted to '86' the clothes from '96.
I suggest a really decent outfit or two in your new size, surrounded by bargain bin finds. Unless, of course, you're loaded.1 -
You go girl!!! Gratz!0

A good feeling indeed. Congratulations on the new milestone.0

Yeah, fashion from 20 years ago probably wouldn't look great, even if it did fit me. My style has changed a bit in those years, too -- in grad school it was primarily jeans & a Tshirt. The professor needs a slightly more polished look!I suggest a really decent outfit or two in your new size, surrounded by bargain bin finds. Unless, of course, you're loaded.
You know how people who are loaded stay rich? By shopping in the bargain bins0 -
I don't know Murple Professors wearing Jeans and t-shirts (or flannel) was normal when I was an undergrad in the 70's. Maybe you could bring that look back.0

WTG Murple!
Jeans and t-shirts seem popular among some of my colleagues in the biology department where I work. The most interesting combination was the professor who insisted on always wearing a baseball cap even with a business suit on. A picture of him in this outfit standing next to our university president ended up in one of our alumni publications.0 -
Nice job!!!!!0

Way to go!0

RE: Steve's Blogpost, and shopping bargain clearance -- somehow, no matter what size I am, they never have the item I want in my size. LOL.
But it did remind me that we have a Nordstrom Rack and a Talbot's outlet store here, so I should hit those up for 'look like a grown-up' clothes.1 -
Congratulations! And, you can shop Nordstrom Rack online, too.0
-
Congrats. Tenacity!0

Within 25 pounds? That's absolutely great, Murple.
It is a bit of a curse to outgrow your closet on the downside. I know I inherited the "cheap gene" from my Depression-era parents. But I loved the "you know how people who are loaded stay rich" observation as well.
And you probably got almost a much affirmation here as you would have gotten on Connect . . .0
