Hi, I'm not a techy person - I'm a pen-to -paper kind of gal... 
Does anyobe know of a really good carb counting list that I can printout or a book I could pick up?

I've heard good things about Calorie King's guide. It costs around $9.00, though. I don't know if there are any free lists out there.0

I use this a lot for meat and veggies if you don't mind running a search: https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/

Yes you can get a free starter kit. The download now box is checked by default but if you look to the right side of page you will see the option to "Ship the kit to me" It is totally free and you get a few Atkins samples and coupons along with the pocket carb counter.3 -
