LCHF and inflammation - singing the praises!

I'm really curious about the link between eating low carb high fat and reduced inflammation in the body. Inflammation sometimes seems like an elusive, hard-to-measure phenomenon.
But I've had a very unexpected benefit to this new WOE - a better singing voice! I swear that about a week or two in, my singing voice became stronger and clearer, and the "break" isn't as difficult to manage -- I guess it has to do with phlegm?
What are some signs that inflammation has been reduced in your body?

That's awesome! I've been a singer for decades but as I get older the strength in my voice has lessened and the break has just been too hard to control. Haven't sung in a few years. May have to start exercising those vocal chords again6

Nice post @ inflammation!
I was happy to read you have experienced improved singing voice due to reduced inflammation/phlegm. That is wonderful
For me, the 2 expected improvements have been mental clarity and subsiding knee pain, resulting in my current ability to walk without a cane or leaning my entire weight on my shopping cart.
My unexpected benefit is improved vision. Seriously, I was so surprised. When I began LC WOE, I was struggling to read for more than and hour at a time, with my prescription reading glasses. The eye strain and throbbing headache behind the eyes lasted for hours. I was thinking about getting a new prescription. Now, not only can I read for hours without any strain/pain, my vision is sharp (reading with the same glasses) and I have reduced the font size on my Kindle. Ha! I attribute this to reduced inflammation, as well.

I too have noticed that benefit from eating this way. My feet would swell something terrible by the end of day and my had so much knee and elbow pain that was sometimes unbearable. I now noticed after only 2 week with WOE that my swelling is only minimal and my joint pains are almost gone! I have no stomach bloat and I feel lighter. I am still struggling with mental clarity and waiting for that next!!!4

I used to have painful joints and could even felt heat radiating from my forearm muscles, and it went away when I returned to a gluten free diet. But apparently I was still a bit inflamed from carbs/sugar!2

I'd give anything for better vision! What I've seen for me though is the knee pain I've had since I was a kid - no matter what my weight - has improved. There was a time when an hour car ride would have me limping around because my knees hurt so badly when I stood. No more!4

Oh, I can so relate to that knee pain when driving. I hadnt noticed until you mentioned it, but yup.....that's gone too.

I've also seen my joint pains and muscle aches subside after doing keto for the past few months. I read that sugar causes inflamation, and after being sugar free for months now, I feel like I did in my 20s again.6

I have had chronic joint pain most of my life, so much so that before the age of 35 I was tested for every possible joint disorder. Final answer was just that my joints are hyper-flexible. Today is day 21 and I have already seen a marked improvement.2

I've noticed a reduction in the frequency and severity of my migraines and a reduction in joint pain. I'm thrilled!!4

How long have you been Keto? I just got started Friday. As a type 2 diabetic, inflammation is a big issue. I am over the Keto-flu thank goodness with the exception of a little brain fog.0

Hi Kennygang, I just got started with keto on Friday. I think I'm over the keto-flu, but I still have some brain fog going on too. Why did you decide to keto? For me; I'm a type 2 diabetic, stalled at 212lbs cant drop the weight no matter how much I exercise. Want to come off all meds, and reach a goal weight of 150-1551 -
To be honest I tried every other diet and nothing seemed to work and I would exercise and the scale would not move. I tried the low carb and it was amazing, but I still find it hard to stay away from the junk food that I love but I find that it is getting easier. last night my daughter wanted to go to sweet frog a our local frozen yogurt place and my daughter had hers and I was not even tempted! That was amazing for me.... I am now doing the intermittent fasting during the day and I cant believe that I am not hungry at all til dinner time. Its amazing when you don't have to plan your day around food.3

I went very strict Keto before my dental surgery and especially during the healing process. The dentist said the way I was healing was exceptional and even wanted to take pictures. I don't get headaches often anymore unless I stray from my diet. I 100% believe eating low carb and healthier in general really helps fight inflammation!4

Hmm.. I have been eating LCHF and have been pain and injury free for a long time despite playing a lot of tennis which can be hard on feet, knees, shoulders, joints in general (I am almost 60).
But I did hurt my back this week and on reflection I have been eating an awful lot of birthday cake due to three major birthdays this week. Maybe the sugar was no good for me?3 -

Me too. If a new diet hit the market I was all in. And all it got me was a lighter wallet. Like you I am amazed at how little food I eat during the day. I don't think about it. If my stomach says Im hungry, I eat. If my tummy says i am hungry, but I don't think I should be, I drink a big glass of water. I don't go around obsessing about food anymore. It's just there. and there is plenty of it, so I don't plan what I am going to eat for dinner while i am eating my lunch anymore. I did have one blip, I wanted pizza. So what I did was make my own pizza in the microwave. Cheese and pepperoni melted together in a symphony of glorious pizza. Figured out it was the fat I was wanting. Have had no sugar cravings, and amazingly I don't want bread/pasta either. Not sure if you have done this already, but add me as a friend if you would like.1
