I am happy to see the reinvigoration of the GoaD community.
This place is quite important to me.

I'll admit I lurked much more than posted over the last year or so. To paraphrase the character Bart at the end of Blazing Saddles, it had gotten pretty dull around there. I do hope we can attract some newbies over here instead of just the familiar faces. Helping guys new to the weight loss journey is a big part of what Goad can be.0

Me too! And I agree Phil, that newbies to add a lot (I love trying to put into words, why I believe or do what I do. On the other hand, I'm so glad to see so many old faces.0

I also enjoy reading the post on GoaD. I was glad to see it keep together here and the posts keep coming and not forgotten. The support is great!!

I'm with you on that Greg, and I plan to be an active participant. I enjoy checking in each morning on roll call just to get my mind in the right place for the new day. My biggest challenge will be soldiering on when the road seems too familiar.
And a huge thanks to Kim for continuing to keep LTL alive.

My participation in GoaD seem to parallel my engagement in managing my weight. Causation? Correlation? Either way, it's something I can and should control.
And giving back to newbies is also valuable.1 -
I'm quite happy with the new life we've found here as well!
And a big ditto on this one. Ever since I've left the original boards I've gained back almost all the weight I've lost... Yes, you can do it on your own, but man it's helpful to have some folks to lean on.My participation in GoaD seem to parallel my engagement in managing my weight.
In the spirit of this thread, I decided to update the GoaD banner to hopefully make it more welcoming to newbies. Also included a line to say it's a continuation of the weight watchers board in case any wayward GoaDs are looking to be prodigal sons/daughters.2 -

Nice job. Of course, now I want a soft pretzel.

I, too, am very grateful that my relaunch into WL and DW getting me to use MFP coincided quite closely with the GoaD migration over here.0

I just bleated out my allegiance to GOAD on the LTL thread. It (i.e. you GOADies) have been such a great source of knowledge, support and KITAs since I started. I was not looking forward to continuing without that leg of support, so I am also glad for this reincarnation.
As for the LTL (thanks for the kudos, Chris), it's what we make of it. I took over its organization but in my opinion it's only as valuable as what we collectively put into it. That said, I'm pleased to have people stepping up to take turns posting and responding to LTL on a daily basis.0 -
Kim - thanks again for hosting for me on Monday! Our trip was amazing but the wireless access was dreadful and spotty. On a positive note, I had very little screen time and a ton of time out in nature!0

Oh you're absolutely welcome, Regina. Your trip sounds great, at least what you said here. Now you've got me curious though, where did you go and what did you do?0 -

I like the new look. Will you be changing it out for each season?0 -
Ditto to all said!0

Kim - we went up to Bayfield Wisconsin - north of Ashland, east of Duluth. Bayfield is right by the Apostle Islands. We took a boat tour to see most of the islands, then on another day took the ferry to Madeline Island. On our last full day, we went to Meyers Beach, which is the furthest point west of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. We hiked on a trail that took us to some sea caves. It was beautiful!
I also did a lot of bike riding as well as running. Dang, there are some steep hills in that area! But gorgeous views!

OK, now I can say this really does sound (and look--thanks for including pics) like a great vacation, Regina! Those sea caves look like fun, at least on a good day.
I was ~sorta~ up in that area several years ago on a trip that included the UP of MI and a (too quick) visit to the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was absolutely gorgeous with relatively few people around.
Hope your fun- and activity-filled week gave you a good boost and lots of good memories to keep you going for a while.1
