Thanks samanthaluangphixay. Ummm can I call you Sam? Have a question... How long does brain fog last? I think I am over keto-flu, but my mental focus/clarity is still off.0 -
Now I'm craving a baby spinach salad. Nomnomnom...1

You can call me Sam!
As for the brain fog, that is actually an electrolyte issue as well. Also, your body is still adjusting to not running on carbs. How is your sodium intake?

You should also try arugula tossed with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.3

Spinach is a great source of sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium. It's an electrolyte powerhouse.2

We don't and haven't eaten lettuce in this house in about 5 years. Only baby spinach. We love it. I'm keto and my daughter, @Sohma16 is around 100 carbs. Feel free to friend us.2

I add salt to everything. Before keto I hardly used salt at all, but now... I am also drinking power aid zero (one 32 oz bottle lasts the entire day) to help replace the magnesium and potassium.0 -

If this is your second day you haven't even gotten keto flu yet. Read the launch pad especially the electrolyte thread, if you keep your electrolytes in balance you may new able to avoid keto flu altogether.
Eta: you're gonna need a lot more than powerade 0 especially only one a day, it has minimal amounts of magnesium potassium and sodium compared to what your body is going to be dumping the longer you are keto.2 -

Well I sure nuff felt like I had the flu. Nausea, aches, headache, no energy, couldn't concentrate. I have been cutting back on carbs for a while. This is the first time though that I have cut them this drastically, since my first attempt with Atkins many, many moons ago. I woke up today with more energy than I have had in months. Brain fog is still with me, and around lunchtime a headache.

That's all caused by sodium loss, if you haven't already read the electrolyte thread, you'll want to asap.1

I'm having a bit of a quandary about the sodium. I am adding it to everything I am eating, some times even double salting. If I don't, I can't eat. It all tastes like cardboard. That said, I don't think I am getting enough. Do I need to start adding it to my H2o? I am also going to begin taking a magnesium supplement along with a multivitamin&mineral complex. There is so much to think about with keto. I feel like I am just setting myself up to fail. I can't even seem to figure out the percentage of each macro I am supposed to consume each day.... Feeling a bit frustrated0 -

There is a keto calculator link floating around here somewhere that will help your set your macros. I think it's linked in the launch pad. Yes I add salt to water, many here drink bouillon broth to get sodium, I don't like it so I do salt water. There is a recipe for ketoaid as well, I think it's a bottle of water, squirt of mio or similar, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp nu salt (potassium) that'll do you a lot better than powerade 0. I drink the powerade 0 too but I add a half tsp salt to the big bottle to increase the sodium. You're gonna lose a lot so try to keep your intake around 5000mg a day to replenish1 -
Pickles! Olives! Deli meats!2

It is impossible to get enough salt simply by salting your food / water heavily when you follow this WOE. Drink pickle juice. Eat pickles. Dissolved a bouillon cube in the appropriate amount of water and drink 1-2 cubes daily. Buy and start taking salt pills daily. I go the bouillon route myself.0

Thanks ladipoet, wow didn't realize. I thought I was doing okay. Will get some bouillon cubes today.0
