Just posting an update. After 131 days, I'm down 52 lbs., weighing in at 178 lbs. This is right after I spent 2 weeks in Hawaii (combination of work & vacation).

I kept up with regular workouts, even working out longer (more cardio). I increased my calorie goal to more of a maintenance level, while there. I did gain about 4.2 lbs in Hawaii, but lost it all, plus a few more lbs., within 6 days of returning home. I'm now back to more resistance training.

I'm very surprised that I was able to lose so much weight, while having to eat out so frequently. I've found that BJ's Restaurant & Brewery offer some very tasty low calorie options, so I try to eat there when I can. I also like to have the Fit Hit Bowl at Taco Time in Western, WA when I need something fast (for some reason, there are several other Taco Time restaurants don't offer it).

Although I don't avoid carbs, I do avoid wheat (including bread & pasta). I find myself snacking on carrots, nuts, and seeds, when driving long distances & always have water. The key form is just hitting my daily calorie goals.

I need to take an updated comparison picture, but here is one from a few weeks ago, after 107 days.

What do you usually get at Bj's? I've been there once or twice and wind up getting heavy stuff. Now that I am starting up on MFP, I am looking for good road restaurants.

Congrats on the loss BTW! When I started this job I was at 230, I got up to 306 and after a week on MFP I am back below 300. Long way to go though...one day at a time.

Great success! Congrats! For me, being at a hotel without close dining options, or a microwave in the room has hurt me. I have a goal in mind - Kuaui - and have been better about buying meals from a grocery store, or getting take out from a place that will list nutrition. I'm always leery of restaurants though. Sure, it says 510 calories, but what if the chef/cook doesn't understand how important those numbers are to some of us.
