Will Avocado and sugar free peanutbutter kick me off ketosis?

I've noticed that Avocado and even sugar free peanutbutter has some carbs in it.. Will it kick me off ketosis?? As I am on a fat fast, I don't want all my hard efforts go to waist by confusing my body.. Occasionally I will have about a quarter of teaspoon full of sugar free peanutbutter whenever I crave sugar or carbs or I will have a cup of cocoa without sugar and a little full cream milk... Will any of these things kick my body out of ketosis???
Please give your opinions. I need to know that I'm doing this right...

Lots of people here eat these things. I personally don't like avocado but I do eat peanut butter on occasion. Keeping in mind, of course, everything in moderation and what is good for me, may not be good for you philosophy is important to keep in mind. I think the amount of fat in these items will offset your carbs. Heck, even eggs have some carbs in them - eat 4 and I think you have 2 carbs...I say start small, try and see how you feel...0

Simply consuming carbs doesn't stop ketosis. It's about how many carbs it is and how quickly they hit your blood.
You might handle 20g of vegetable carbs in one sitting without affecting ketosis much or at all. But 20g of grain or sugar carbs is an entirely different thing because they are faster.
Want to eat an apple without stopping ketosis? Eat a small one or part of one with peanut butter on it. Adding the fat slows down the sugar.
But another thing to note is that if you've been in ketosis for several weeks (assume 6 to be sure) it's really not a big deal if you're kicked out of ketosis as it will only be temporary. You'll get right back in once your body has used up the glucose. Your brain needs a minimum amount each day anyway, so you can either allow your body to produce its own or consume carbs to supply it. Either way, glucose will be in your blood for your brain to use every single day, fat fast or not.
Now, if your intention for fat fasting is to produce the highest ketones possible, it will certainly slightly lower that temporarily. But, it shouldn't have any affect on fat loss. The real benefit of the fat fast is achieving such intense appetite satisfaction from both the high ketones and the slow burning fat that you can have a day or so of very low calories.
So the potential issue with consuming carbs that affect ketosis has more to do with how it affects your appetite and ability to achieve the very very low calories12 -

Thank you! This was so informative. I appreciate your info.. I'm kind off new to this and I've done a lot of research on this keto diet stuff.. Some say this and some say that.. Some say this is off limits while other sites allow it.. It's all a bit confusing..1 -

I'm actually doing a fat fast right now that that includes guacamole and low sugar peanut butter. I was in ketosis after 1 day and so far I've lost 5 lbs in 4 days. You will be fine with the avocado and peanut butter lol

just curious is the peanut butter a no sugar added peanut butter or a "sugar free" meaning there is an artificial sweetener in it?0

Almond butter is generally the safest thing to have as it usually has more fiber, lowering the net carb content. "No added sugar" is tricky; it can mean "this contains sugar from the peanuts, but we didn't add any more".
My favorite is the "wild friends" brand of peanut butters. They are generally low on sugar and packed with protein. The protein+ versions are great too. If you are ever on the lookout for something new, give them a shot.

When I purchase peanut butter I don't look at the nutrition label, I look at the ingredients listed. It should read: "peanuts, salt" That's all!5

I'm with you on this one @supergal3 especially if I'm looking for plain PB; however, bonus points if the manufacturer actually puts other good stuff in their PB like superfood powders blended in, etc. and the like because I do also enjoy flavored PB's too.

Yep, no harm in having kelp or kale added.
Haven't seen those, but I did snag a jar of PB w Flax & Chia at Trader Joe's.
