Hi all,

New to the LC group and was wondering if there is a way to set MFP for a low carb diet? I'm eating properly (LC) but would rather have the macros set for the amount of fat I need, etc.

Thanks for any help!

Yes, you can do that. Go to "My Home", then "Goals". You will see "Daily Nutrition Goals". Hit the Edit button and you can put in the % Macros you want. So I have Carbs (5%), Fat (75%) and Protein (20%). I also have fiber on there, too, so I can calculate my net carbs since MFP doesn't have a net carb option at this time.

You can remove any nutrient you don't want to follow, but I'm not sure how to do this anymore. But if you look way up at the top, there is a help menu. So far, any question I've asked has been on the list. Good luck!

As an addendum to the above, if you are willing to pay for a premium membership, you can set you macros to hard numbers, as opposed to percentages. This way, your carbs and protein would stay one constant number, even once exercise kcals factored in, and only fat would increase through the day.

Set the macros and nutrients you want to track by going to "settings" then "diary settings". You can also eliminate exercise messing up (increasing) your overall calorie, carb, protein and fat goals my overriding whatever number MFP gives you for for calories burned by entering 1 calorie burned.
