I've started LCHF on Aug 22nd and so far so good! I'm still trying to get my macros correct. It's seems difficult to get enough fat while eating real food. I'm not much of a fan of butter or oil in my coffee, so I'm still working on that part. So far it's been fairly easy to eat this way and I've been enjoying it. I didn't weight or take any measurements, but I can already tell I'm losing and I feel great!

I just recently started LCHF about a week ago. So far so good! I don't feel as tired as I normally do after meals and I want sweets, but don't eat them. Which is a good thing! I have always put real butter on my extra sharp cheddar and also in my coffee. I never knew it was good for you though! The butter in coffee does not change the taste of the coffee besides it makes it more rich and it makes the coffee taste like "coffee"! Try it! I stumbled on a website, dietdoctor.com; if you haven't already checked this out, go to it!! Lots of info and recipes!1 -

You don't have to use butter or oil in your coffee. Heavy whipping cream is also a source of healthy fat so just use that. Or coconut milk (check for hidden sugar/carbs though). Or any kind of nut milk.1 -
I'm on day 12. So far, so good! I have been adding coconut oil to my coffee for awhile, so it wasn't an adjustment. I think it makes it richer. I'm not a huge fan of heavy whipping cream in my coffee, but I got used to it. I think this lifestyle is going to be a bit of trial and error, but I am down almost 11 lbs (yes I know it's mostly water but still...) and I feel pretty good. Just spent four days at my Grandmothers, which is a dessert landmine field! She greeted us at the door with Krispy Kreme's But I will say I wasn't tempted to have any of that stuff all weekend. That's a win in my book.1

Other ways to add fat into your day: add coconut oil or mct oil into smoothies, coffee, or tea; adding coconut oil, ghee, butter, or duck fat into broths or soups; eating a TBS of coconut butter straight from the jar plus a spoonful of coconut oil; drizzling olive oil onto my medium-boiled eggs; frying eggs (or sauteeing vegetables) with coconut oil; making fat bombs (basically keto/lchf desserts)--there are great recipes by Martina Slajerova and Maria Emmerich out there on blogs, or cookbooks. Here's a link to a blog I love: http://ketodietapp.com/Blog/post/2015/03/24/60-amazing-fat-bomb-recipes
Also, there's a free virtual Keto Summit coming up. Link here:

Good luck, and Keto On!

Also mayo is a great way to add fats; when I'm too lazy to make my own, I like Primal Kitchen's avocado mayo. You can make dips or put inside deli meat, along with avocado, another great source of nutritious fat.0
