Hungrier now, especially at night

History: I've lost 124 pounds. When I was hungry throughout the weight loss, it was no big deal. But since then, I've admitted that I am diabetic (2) and have started treating it (insulin), for the last three nights, I have been ravenous when I've gone to bed -- to the point at which it was very difficult to go to sleep.
What do you do, if this happens to you, and you've already eaten the amount you are supposed to eat? Or what do you suggest?

I wish I had some advice that would help, but I don't take insulin. If I'm hungry, I will eat something healthy at least, even if it's a little over my 'allowance'0

I would see if you could talk to a dietician...they may be able to suggest something about meal planning so you would be less hungry! Best wishes...I don't take insulin either so I am not sure..doctor or dietician should be able to help!

I see the last post was about 2 1/2 months ago (I am new to this group) so I hope that things have evened out for you and you are doing well. I, too, am on long-acting insulin and know that it can be very frustrating...esp when I am eating the right food!!
The advise to talk to a dietician was great. I find that sometimes I am eating things that may affect my blood sugar even though I am eating the right # of carbs.
Let us know how you are doing. You are welcome to put me on your friends list if you are looking for more friends.

Is your insulin balanced? I know my mum gets hungry when she's heading for a hypo. It's how I know when her insulin needs lowered.0
