Well lets see my training is pretty much over with. So I am a real person. You know you look at things and say why didn't I do this sooner and then you look at your life and think because at the time it wasn't convenient.
This weeks goals.
I need to up my protein.
Keep exercising 1st thing in the morning and maybe do something small before I go to bed to wind down. some sort of stretching.
things are starting to fall into place except the shopping. I still haven't gotten that in the right spot yet. I like doing the laundry Fri night. The kinks will all work out sooner or later.
I scaled back my challenges to 4 so I can do everything. Oh well give me a month of so and I should have all the bumps worked out and everything will be smooth sailing.
Have a great week everyone !!

It will be interesting to see what my weight is Monday morning. There was a death in my family so I had an unexpected trip to Florida. I didn't sleep well and was a bit out of sorts, so driving was difficult. My motto when driving tired/sleepy is that it's better to munch on whatever will help me stay awake and arrive alive than to eat completely healthy and fall asleep at the wheel. So, lots of munching there and back.
2020pinktogo - It's interesting that you mentioned scaling back your challenges because while driving back from Florida, I decided I needed to scale back the time I spend on MFP. Almost cancelled it completely, but finally settled on scaling back to 2 challenges and only one additional ongoing MFP group. (Decided it was time to spend more time doing and less time thinking about doing.) I will most likely be checking in less (but at least once a week). I'm also changing my weight loss goals tomorrow.
This weeks goals:
1. Whole foods only (had enough processed stuff driving to and from Florida to last awhile)
2. Sleep (7-8 hours per night)
3. Exercise (I'm finally making this more of a focus)
Wishing everyone a wonderful week.0 -
@JMarcella57 I really like MFP and it seems to keep me focused and on the right track. I was just stretched way too thin and with learning so much new stuff it was hard to do everything so. I contacted the leaders of the groups and said OK I need to scale back. I really liked the groups but they were too time consuming. I need to exercise and get stuff done. In quite a few of my groups people have decided to take a hiatus from MFP. I feel I really need MFP just to be more selective.1

I feel the same way @2020pinktogo. But at the same time, I'm not moving enough. Work has become full and chaotic again, so not as much walking as before. My friend told me we were gonna jog every morning...that hasn't happened yet...I need to stop making excuses and just do...I need something to motivate me...a goal and a kick in the pants...0

This previous week was pretty good for me. This upcoming weekend is going to be the first trial since we're going to a German festival in Louisiana with some friends (they're part of a dance group). Part of this trip is eating a lot of German food and going out to get some seriously heavy, but delicious Cajun food. I've already pre-logged what I plan to eat for dinner, and the hotel where we're staying does have a fitness center, so I'm planning to at least go for a jog on the treadmill before we leave to go out to the festival.
So goals this week are really going to revolve around the trip.
1) Eat as healthy/within my calorie goals while attending a festival.
2) Workout more, workout while travelling.
3) Continue with the first true challenge week in my Star Wars challenge group.1 -
@arniedog74 I know what you mean my old job I averaged 15-20k steps a day Now the only steps I'm getting is the 3 miles I do before work. So I am very careful of what I put in my mouth and as we can stand at our desks or sit I try and stand as much as possible.
So I would really like to be under 140 lbs by the new year but if I'm not I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Granted I really don't want to be gaining weight so If I plateau for a while until I get things sorted out that's more of what I am aiming for. LOL
My goal would be not to outgrow the wardrobe I just bought1 -

I know, right?! My son finally convinced me to buy some new clothes for work, and some of the pants I was very proud to get into are starting to get loose in the waist! So while I'm thrilled about my progress, I'm sad that my pocketbook will take another hit! At least all the new tops still fit well.
Goals for this week:
1. Get at least 8 cups of water daily. I've not been meeting this goal consistently.
2. Get my walks in at work, I have two volunteer events and two shifts at my p/t job this week. I'll meet my step goals on the days I cashier in the concession stand, but my p/t job is sitting on a welcome desk.
I have one organizational goal this week too. If I can move my table to the other side of the living room, I can get the Hoosier cabinet out of the kitchen. Then I'll have the space for a new cabinet for the toaster oven to sit on, and hang the pot rack above it. The toaster oven is still sitting in the box in the living room after a month, as my tiny house (just 720 sq ft) has very little counter space. And the box is blocking the table...

I had a good week, although I didn't hit all my goals. I'm kind of naturally scaling back and focusing on just a few things too, which haven't had much directly to do with weight loss (I focused on sleep this weekend and some stress management stuff over the week). I also cut way back on coffee (actually cut it out on all but one day, which was more than I intended to do, but I'm drinking low caffeine tea instead and it seemed to go well and I'm definitely sleeping better, who would have thought, sigh). ;-)
This week I'm going to try to focus on getting in and enjoying my planned runs and logging my food.1 -
Weird week coming up. Nice day off yesterday with open water gentle swim and relaxing ten mile bike ride...but today is melanoma skin cancer surgery to arm. and two days of legal appointment for my college daughter misadventures... So goal is keep moving within surgical restrictions and limit stress eating0

Positive thoughts for you!0

@barbhat13 I so understand why wild animals eat their young. Wishing you the best sending you positive thoughts.1

@tress29 - Anyway you can take in the waist to it doesn't kill your pocketbook buying new clothes as you lose weight?
@barbhat13 - How did the surgery go? I have a coworker who is also getting it done and she is a little freaked out. I tried to reassure her that I have had three family members who have all had it removed and been fine.
Good for those who are trying to find the right balance when it comes to challenges. Balance is so important to well-being.
I am having a good week. Not losing a lot but I increased my exercise goals and am doing very well. My goal for the week is a minimum of 15,000 steps per day and 10 floors. My usual goal is 10,000 steps per day. So far so good.

The waist is the last place I lose so by the time they are loose in the waist, they are super baggy every where else! They hang nicely though, so I'm just gonna deal for a few more months. I usually get Christmas money from my parents, so that will probably be a good time to shop...

This week has gone better. I've eaten better, slept better and been more active. Things look a lot better today than they did a week ago. The death in the family was actually my brother. It's been a reflective week and certainly a reminder to make time count. This week has been about assessing, reassessing and making sure I'm on the track that I want to be on. For the most part, I am. There are those little things in life that rob us of time and we don't even realize it. So I guess October will be about continuing to up the anti on creating even better habits and taking back those areas of wasted time where I could be doing more of what I really want to be doing.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.0 -
@JMarcella57 I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your brother.1

Had a slight gain of 0.8 this week. So not too terribly bad. I'm still just 3 1/2 lbs from Halloween goal so I should be able to meet that without any problems in the next 3 weeks.0
