I'll start, My name is Margaret and I started this challenge. I believe in the power of a group. We all need to be encouraged and motivated and we find strength in encouraging and motivating others. I have lost about 50 pounds, gained 15 when I injured my back and still need to drop 50 more. I believe in 1 pound at a time and to celebrate every loss no matter how small. I turned 50 last month and thought I would be at my goal, but that did not happen so I am still plugging along. I do not believe in a diet or quick fix, this has to be a lifestyle change. I want health more than being skinny. No matter your reason for being here, you are welcome. Thanks for joining this journey and let's get it done!

I like the way you think I am pretty new to this so I am hoping to find people who have figured it out a bit and don't mind me hanging around learning how to make this work.5

Hi, I'm Karen from Fort Worth, TX. I have started over many times. I've lost weight, then gained it back. Now I'm just trying to take one day at a time and hopefully make changes that will last. A couple weeks ago, I created a brand new profile on here and on Fitbit (to go with my new tracker) because I wanted a fresh start. So far I've lost 4 pounds.9

Hi, I'm Stacey and I live in Turkey. I hit my 40's, had some major life changes and injuries and suddenly I'm two sizes bigger than I used to be. I'm trying to make a change of lifestyle as well and eat more moderately. 15 pounds by the New Year might be beyond what I can do, but I'm going to go ahead and start now! I've lost four pounds in the last three weeks, so that's a good start for me! I want to become stronger, so it may be that as I build muscle my weight may not drop as much, but I'll know by how my clothes fit. I'd love to cheer you all on and have your encouragement, too!6

I'm Sarah. I've done weight watchers, Paleo and many others. I've been on an emotional roller coaster with job loss, moving, and depression. I'm at my all time heaviest, and would like to gain back my confidence, and health. I need to get back to focusing on me and WANTING it for me instead of caring what others think. My overall goal is to lose 30 pounds, so this would help me get half way there!! I look forward to the journey with everyone Together we CAN do this!10

Hi I'm Kim. I was on mfp last year but stopped after way to much stress piled on in my life. I'm a single mom of 3 amazing kids!! I have about 80 lbs I want to lose but the number isn't as important as the way I feel about myself. I will be turning 30 in the summer of 2017 and I would love to be about to look at myself at 30 and finally be happy. I have made huge changes in my life in the past couple years and I'm excited to make more!!4

Hi, I'm in too, female and 50. My goal is to drop 40 lbs by May. I lost 15 pounds in the spring and got stuck. Didn't have the support to push through the plateau. I gained a lot back when I fell in June and hurt my leg. Was hard to workout. I tried to find people locally who wanted to work together, but that was very hard. How do you meet people that really want to drop weight and want someone to do it with? The fitness clubs seem to have people who don't want to talk to anyone. They just want to get in/out asap. I want some friends to support and to receive support. Would love to have other females friend me and we'll support each other! Anyone from Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN? Good luck all!5

Hello. I am Julie from South Africa. 37yrs old with 2 kids. I gained 40kg within 6 months after being in a car crash. Unable to lose the weight since.....that was 5 years ago. ... i must lose the 40kilos to be in my appropriate bmi & weight range. I've failed repeatedly trying to tame my emotional binge eating habits. Im hoping this time is different.
I'm super excited to be joining this group of like minded and equally ambitious peers. I look 4ward to the start of our joint journey. In 1 week ive lost 900gr so thats a start.3 -
Hi everyone. I'm Sara from Arizona, USA, and am 49 years old. I've lost 60 lbs, and have been maintaining that loss for the past 6 months. I have another 20 lbs I want to lose to put me at 160 (I'm 5'7). This will be a great group to be a part of because I love the motivation of working in a group and I want to be at my goal weight by my 50th birthday in February.
Taking good care of myself has become paramount to me this past year because I was diagnosed with a very aggressive from of leukemia last Oct. In the beginning it was not clear that I would survive, but I'm in remission now! It took nine months of chemo (just finished in July) and a lot of mental fortitude to keep myself moving forward. I feel so good now, walking every day, eating well, and I have an excellent prognosis that the cancer will not return. I always took my good health for granted, but never again. I'm going to enter my 50's taking the best care of me possible.
Here's a all of our success! We got this!8 -
Hey, I'm Kaye from GA, USA. I'm 43 and I've been heavy most of my life. I've lost 42 lbs in a little over a year buy making drastic changes to my diet and exercising off and on but I've been hitting the gym hard and steady for two months. I like challenges and having a group to help hold me accountable. I want to lose 35 lbs by summer!4

Hi I'm Katty, I live in Spain. Last year I was morbidly obese, but have managed to lose 70 pounds since then and now I am only overweight. I need a kick on the backside to lose the rest and get to healthy weight. Good luck to us all !6

Hi, I'm Kerry. Single woman in the US. Had lost 47 lbs over the past 2 years, but have started to regain a few. Would like to lose another 20 lbs so need to get back on track. I struggle because most people in my life don't have healthy relationships with food and I don't have any in-person support. Excited to get involved with the community here.3

My name is Kayla, 24 years old, from KY. I have a two year old son. I'm a stress and emotional eater. My life is always stressful for various reasons and I'm choosing to change the habit. I have little support at home with my fiance but it's just a challenge to how committed I'm going to be so that's why I'm interested in the group. The accountability.
My fiance was recently in a accident June '16 and now (thankfully alive) suffers from a TBI with loads of doctors appointments. My father also has health issues and needs me with him at nights sometimes while mother works so my family has to pack for a few days to go stay. I'd eat my trouble away, especially while we stayed at the hospital til late August and I noticed I'd gained 20 pounds in a couple months. He was in the hospital on our wedding date and now my dress doesn't fit. Add me if you like, sorry about the rambling!3 -
Hey guys! I'm Jane, currently living in New Zealand. I've only just started working out and being on MFP (today's my 28th day streak!), but I've lost 2kgs (4.5 lbs) so far! Incredibly proud of where I've gotten in so little time! My overall goal is to lose another 10 kgs, which is roughly 22 lbs, but this challenge is definitely aa good starting point! Plus, I'll be cheating a bit because I'm doing a little bit of strength training, so even if I don't lose 22 lbs but gain muscle and manage to fit into clothes 2 sizes smaller, I would feel incredibly successful still!
Also you can add me as a friend if you'd like!5 -
Hi all! I'm Jaclyn, 32. I have been on this app off and on for years with ups and downs. Right now I am at a low. I am looking to lose around 50lbs before my wedding in October 20173

Hello, my name is Carol, and I have struggled with this for years. Sometimes I think I just need to accept that this is the way I am, but I have not always been this way, and I just don't feel like myself right now. I am 52, and will be 53 by the time this challenge is done, and I WILL be 15 pounds lighter! I probably should lose at least 50, but I don't want to dwell on that right now. One pound at a time, is all I am focusing on now.
I believe in a balanced diet , portion control and exercise. I like bike riding, walking, and yoga, and I do some weight lifting because you're supposed to, but I won't way I like that.
I try to put my blinders on, when I come on a site like this. I think there is way too many opinions and so much information that is contradictory. It is too hard to figure out what might be good advice, from all the other information out there. So I try to not pay attention. But I do like a sense of community and support and think that things like that help with motivation.

I haven't been on mfp for long but I have lost 35.4lbs by myself... ive lost 8.4lbs with myfitness pal over the last 3 months which is bringing my current weight to 148.2 but I seem to be gaining and losing the same lbs so im hoping this group can give me the extra push and motivation I need.... my goal weight at the moment is 132lbs so im in the healthy range of the bmi calculator then when I get there ill figure how much more I want to loose..

Hi guys. I'm 34 and from lovely Lancashire. I have started with mfp in 2014 and lost 27lbs over 12 months. I kept off the weight for some time and although I wanted to lose more, I was rather happy with the 'new me'. However, to cut a long story short, I started a PhD and have been piling on the pounds since. Thanks to stress, no regular meal times, sugar cravings and simply not managing to restrain myself I am now back to where I started. I'm having trouble to motivate myself and just need some support and new goals to get going - I hope that this might just give me the much-needed push!4
