Waiting On & Trying For 220-ville

Well, still doing great on this way of eating. No cheating. Still can't reach the 220's. I mean I am right there. Yesterday, weight was 230.4 pounds. Today, was 231. I know the non-scale victories matter also. Any tips on breaking through this wall?

Keep doing what you've been doing! I've never tried to force weight loss. Your body will let it go when it's ready. Don't allow the numbers to dictate your food choices! Congratulations on your progress so far!2

If you just keep going on plan, the weight loss happens. I was in a big hurry to lose at first, but then I got a month long stall. I'm so glad I persevered because I lost several inches during the stall, and then pounds started dropping again. Your body needs time to readjust to what's happening to it. I think the key is to relax and notice how much better you feel and enjoy the journey. Your body will release those pounds when it is ready.2

Take measurements, the scale is not always the best indicator of progress.2

I had to buy a measuring tape because I'm at where you are, just ready to start losing again. Intermittent fasting helped me break through my last plateau but now I think my body is like "haha jk I've adjusted to this now" and isn't giving up any more. So now I'll take closer looks at my measurements instead of just looking at the scale1

Don't weigh or think about weight for a week. Anxiety is stress. Stress causes release of cortisol. Cortisol tries to make your body store energy rather than burn it. Focusing on that number is clearly causing anxiety.2

@sherryrichie Thanks for that post. Totally makes sense. All the other advice from this group is greatly appreciated.1

Well, I guess talking about it made it happen. Nah, I wish it was that easy but.... it happened.
