Keto questions from a Newbie

Hi folks,
I started eating Paleo a couple of years ago and found that the lower I went with my carbs, the better I felt. After looking around online I decided to try going keto. The thing is…..I can't believe how full I am after eating breakfast. I feel like I'm stuffing myself all day to keep up my percentages on fats and protein, ugh, so I wonder if I'm doing this wrong?
Do we only really have to be concerned about our carb number? It's 1pm and I'm still stuffed from breakfast and this happens every day. My normal calorie intake per day is around 1400. If tomorrow, I only eat 1200, as long as my carbs are under 20 or 25 is that okay? Someone was insisting I had to eat my full protein percentage each day and my full fat percentage each day and I'm stuffed!! I'd like to be able to just eat when I'm hungry while doing keto.
Any help would be most welcome. This is all so new to me.
Thank you!
Renee

I usually only eat when I am hungry. I will have days where 1300 cals fills me up and keeps me happy and days when it takes 1700 cals to achieve the same thing. I don't see any reason that you need to 'stuff yourself' just to meet a number.1

I'm interested to read your responses but as for me, if I'm not hungry then I won't "force feed".... those fats (olive oil, Kerry gold butter and heavy cream) lead to a nice level of satiety.0

Yep, don't eat if you aren't hungry. You will go through cycles, probably, where you seem to be starving. Eat when you are hungry don't eat when you are not. I drank BPC this morning - with only butter and coconut oil in it and I was full for 5 hours. I'm just now thinking I need to have some lunch. Keep carbs at or below goal, fats to satiety and protein moderate and you should be on track just fine. You DO NOT have to eat your full protein/fat each and every day. No reason to be stuffed or over eat when your body says not to. My carbs are at 20 or fewer too. Welcome aboard and good luck; you've got this!!1

If you have body fat to lose, you don't have to meet your fat macro. I try not to dip too low on my calories, but there are definitely days that I'm not hungry and eat less than others.1

I've been in maintenance for 2.5 years. 6 months of those have been keto. I choose to eat close to my calorie goal. I've found adherence to be pretty darn easy.0

The general idea is
Reach your minimum protein for sure.
Do not go over on carbs
Eat fat to satiety
Any fat you don't physically consume will come from your body. Therefore your body will get all the energy it needs one way or another. If you're not hungry, it's because your body has everything it needs. If you force feed it, why would it use body fat? People that say you absolutely must reach that fat macro are confused. They are getting the therapeutic, non weight loss, keto diet confused with one for weight loss. The calorie deficit comes from reducing fat. You need to provide all the minimum protein to support muscle though. That is important.
Have you determined your protein needs by using one of the keto calculators?

Not much advise but like to say thanks for this topic! It helps me out a lot since I'm new too1

Ditto all of the above. You will have hungry days and days that seem impossibly "full" with much less food. It will even out. Welcome to the group.1

Thanks so much, guys! I'm really liking this so far, and it's really helpful to come here and get these great replies! I did use one of the keto calculators which was also very helpful. Hubby is also planning on going keto so that helps too.2
