Everyone says it, but just how do you do it? How do you take the guidelines of the WW program and turn them into a lifestyle you can live every day...from now on? That is what we are here to explore. Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Newbie? Join in! Veteran? Join in! Your thoughts may be just what someone else needs to hear.

TOTD: How about trading in those " woulda, coulda, shouda" thoughts for living life today with style??
Our WW meeting is collecting all left over candy to send to the troops over seas. What are you doing positive today??

I'll check in later tomorrow as I will be in a dentist chair (hmmm not much candy at that place)

I will positively hand out treats to kids for the first time in about four years. I used to enjoy doing that but then DW and I turned out lights and went to movies the last few years. I decided to NOT be that crabby old guy this year.
If I have any left overs I'll donate to food drive at library. They are taking donations in lieu of library fines.

DH will deal with handing out the candy. Any leftovers will be taken to the retirement community tomorrow for the concierge desk candy dish.
I'll have to think of something positive that I will do today. It is still dark and I'm cranky that I have to go to work.0 -
Oh I can do cranky. It is dark and cranky now.
Nice Jim. Our DD and son-in law have the most amazing display of carved pumpkins in their wooded driveway . went to see them last night.0 -
Going 2 play Pickleball. Then the gym. My kids are grown, I'm retired, I live in an apartment. Halloween is for kids. I'm not involved.
Sending candy to the troops is best idea I've heard.0 -
I'm pretty excited to hand out candy this year. This is the first year we may actually get trick or treaters! My SO is worried about having the leftover candy around so I'll probably bring it to work to give out to the college students. Halloween candy is no longer a trigger for me. It used to be, but now I allow myself to have 1 or 2 pieces when I feel like it and it's eliminated the temptation for bingeing.
The real challenge today will be the work potluck, my coworkers are amazing cooks and the food looks absolutely delicious! My plan is to stick to the "10" scale. If it's not a "10" or a vegetable/lean protein then it is not worth my time. I baked pumpkin spice cupcakes (1 box spice cake mix, 1 can pumpkin) as a lighter option for dessert if nothing else tempts me.0 -
Wow Rachel you are one smart lady who has moved beyond the "woulda, shoulda" to an actual plan. Love it.
Yea for some things like ice cream/ gelato I don't take any myself unless it is a "10". Pretty much that way for pizza too.0 -
There are a lot of trick or treaters in our neighborhood every year, but DW and I stopped handing out candy about 10 years ago. Many of the kids weren't from our neighborhood at all. We saw vans dropping large groups off. It's nice that we live where it is safe for kids to run around, but we just decided enough was enough. We might go out to dinner.0

We live in a relatively "young" neighborhood thus plan to pass out candy - we get tons of kids. Our kids are grown and we have grandkids but they live far away so we don't personally participate beyond passing out to the little kids in the neighborhood. I like to do it, this is my way of paying back for all the years I got to enjoy Halloween as a kid.
We have a tradition of having hot dogs for dinner on Halloween, because DH used to carry them around in his pockets when he took the kids out. We upgraded to Bison Dogs a few years ago...they are very delicious. We eat early and sit in the driveway with the dog and pass out the candy. I enjoy it.0 -
I have zero idea what to expect tonight. Zero.
Totally new neighborhood.

This is the first Halloween in a very long time that I won't have a kiddo (or two or three) out trick or treating. My 14 yr old daughter is a costume enthusiast and would no doubt be collecting candy except that she's committed to tech week rehearsals for the musical she's working on. She's in costume today at school (a very cute Waluigi).
We'll pass out candy at home, but we usually get only 10-15 visitors at most. Must remember not to eat the leftovers all at once.0 -
I invited a friend over for dinner. I've got a crockpot going with chicken, Swiss chard, onion, apples, cream of celery, plenty of pepper... adding garden herbs when I get home--maybe rosemary or sage? Will serve over bulgur.
Would like to walk down after dinner and check out the decorations about a mile away in a neighborhood that does it up every year. I don't expect any trick-or-treaters in my hood.0 -
I'm pretty much doing what I do every day. I'm limiting my intake, tracking my food, trying to get outside for some work and play and on this day, I'm choosing not to imbibe in candy (or beer). Every day is training for the next day when you're losing weight...0

Haven't had a trick-or-treater in years. In past years I would buy some candy "just in case". This year I bought NONE. I just told a friend a few minutes ago that, if anyone happened to show up, I would offer them a bottle of water or a sweet potato. LOL1

Went trick or treating with the grandkids. My daughter offered 'adult treats' (hello shots) to the neighbors we visited. It was fun! The neighbors she missed, heard about her treats and came to visit us . It was a Happy Halloween!0
