Hey all,
I have recently started to read more and more when it comes to nutrition and muscle hypertrophy. I was wondering if you have any must-read recommendations.
I recently signed up for the AARR thanks to SideSteel and I am just immersing myself in it every day and I have to say that I bloody love it! (Thanks, SideSteel)
My most recent reads have been Lean Muscle Diet, Science and Development of Muscle Hypertrophy and Intuitive Eating.
Anything else you guys recommend I should read? Whether it is scientific or not.
Thanks

I'd personally recommend Ultimate Diet 2.0 by Lyle McDonald. It goes over a lot about glycogen depletion lifting, carb cycling nutrition, and myriad other minor subjects. It's one of the few plans that, while absurdly strict, seems to provide amazing results (both in strength increases and fat loss) to anyone who follows it honestly.
Even if it's not something you ever follow, it's definitely worth a read. Then again, I'd say the same for his Rapid Fat Loss Handbook.
For that matter, just read all of his books and be done with it.1 -
I'd suggest the following:
Lyle's free content over at Bodyrecomposition.com and basically anything he puts out tends to be top quality.
Mindless Eating by Brian Wadzink
Practical Programming by Rippetoe and Kilgore is a bit outdated but has a lot of great general information.
I've not yet completed the Muscle and Strength Pyramid books by Helms but it's amazing.2 -
Also Greg Nuckols has a set of books called the Art of Lifting and the Science of Lifting, both are fantastic.2

Ahh yes, thanks for that Steel. I had almost forgotten about the plethora of articles he has posted up on his website. His Q&A posts are especially good, and can be helpful to those looking for a more in depth answer to any specific question they may have. I've found myself linking to his work a lot in the LCHF community, as so far as I am concerned, his book The Ketogenic Diet is the best thing out there on the subject. No bullcrap, no fluff, just an absurd amount of science.0 -
