This thread is for GOADies who like to run. New runners, old runners, and even wannabe runners meet here to discuss the joys and challenges of running. Use this space to log your miles, ask questions, share your race reports, or for anything else related to running.

New runners - and even those just thinking about starting out - are always welcome. There's no reason to lurk here. Join the pack and tell us about your running!

Oftentimes the GotR thread will pose a question or raise an issue in order to facilitate the conversation, but this is always an open forum to chat about any running-related topic.

Today's Topic: What's shakin'?

Windy, wet, cold, and possibly some slushy snow on the way. I've got my bag packed for a 4-mile TM run at the gym after work. I have some pickups on the schedule. I kind of prefer the TM for speedwork, truth be told, so no despair over heading to the great indoors.

I have been sticking to my schedule - pretty much - although my days got a bit jumbled up this week. It will be good to get to the gym. I haven't been seen there for >2 mo's, and they've replaced all their cardio and weight equipment since my last visit.

    I'll run long on Sunday.

It was in the upper 50's when I started my run at 6:20am here in the Chicago suburbs. Lower 60's by the time i was done. It was a beautiful morning out on the trails and I saw 4 deer this morning. Approximately 5.5 miles - my Garmin ran out of battery midway through.

The rain has started and our temps will be dropping dramatically. It will get below freezing by morning and only get to 40 tomorrow with very high winds.

Glad I got my run done this morning. Tomorrow will be something indoors before I head to work for an open house.

Sunday I've volunteered to do trail cleanup. That starts at noon so I might do some bike riding beforehand if I can convince myself that I won't freeze to death. I make heat running NOT bike riding. But I have all the gear I need, just need to get my mind on board with the idea.

I really enjoyed my run on the TM at the gym. I always seem to do better with speedwork on the TM. Did 4 miles with 2 mile repeats at 8:30. Felt good, like I'm not overdoing it as I introduce a little bit of faster running.

Long run will be tomorrow morning. Office and an awesome high school production of Bye Bye Birdie are on tap for today. Lol.

Hi, my name is Joe. It has been 2 weeks since my last run. I intend to fix that tomorrow now that I passed my cert exam today. Studying took up way more time than I anticipated recently. But passing means not having to pay the company back for the money spent.

I do have Brian, Gadgetgirl, and Stuart for the virtual 5K this week. I will repost Monday to see if more are willing to participate.

@jbrack381us - congratulations on passing your cert exam! That must feel great to have that behind you!
