Everyone says it, but just how do you do it? How do you take the guidelines of the WW program and turn them into a lifestyle you can live every day...from now on? That is what we are here to explore. Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Newbie? Join in! Veteran? Join in! Your thoughts may be just what someone else needs to hear.

Today's Topic: Fall Term Grade

The fall term is over. The Thanksgiving test was last week. What grade do you give yourself for this term and why? BTW, new term starts immediately. There is no WW Christmas break.

I give myself a C. I started in the middle of my happy zone and ended at its upper limit - but still 12 lbs. below WW goal weight. I guess that is the definition of maintenance. I wanted to drop several more lbs. but got sidetracked by life's temptations.

I give myself a D. When I was in high school I moved to another state mid year and had all new teachers. The chemistry teacher taught at college level and I was so far behind the rest of the class that I just couldn't get seem to catch up. I put in one to two hours of homework every night for this class and still had a failing grade. But he gave me a D for effort. So that is how I'm grading myself today, failing but not giving up.

An F, and a D for effort. Up about 3#, and dealing with a bad case of the effits.

I give myself an "A" from a food/weight loss perspective.
I lost weight consistently for many months in accordance to my roller coaster pattern of losing, with overall trend down. Although at goal, I am going for 8-10 pounds below my official goal weight. I lost .03 Thanksgiving week, I WI on Friday.

I give myself a "C" for fitness activity, I am consistent on walking/running/cardio but woefully missing the goals I set for toning and muscle building.

I give myself an "A" for activity as I've built up my swimming endurance and frequency. I also did a lot of hiking and bike riding this fall.

I give myself a "D" for weight management as I'm continuing to get dangerously close to my WW goal, which is already 5-7 pounds more than where I feel comfortable.

I've been in a funk all fall about a lot of things which saps me of the motivation to adhere better to my calorie budget. In other words, comfort eating.

    I give myself a C.

I passed. I'm still exercising and I tracked every day but the effort just isn't there and I've been falling into old habits. My goal is to get a A leading up to December 24th so I can enter into Christmas strong.

I give myself a "C". No gain, no loss. Time to focus for a few weeks until the Christmas test.....

I am going to go with a B. I've lost ten pounds in six weeks. Admittedly, I got a boost from an especially nasty virus, but, it was still weight loss. Overall I have been a little more mindful about choices, even at Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm giving myself a C+. Maintaining several pounds below my goal weight but i've gained 3 lbs in 2 months. Need to get back to Florida, which is happening in about 6-7 weeks.

If the Term began in September I will get a C. No substantial gain and no loss. I had lost -35# in 2016 and got close to 220s but I've been stuck at 233 for awhile.
Been doing an awful lot of planning in my head on how I'm going to change it up but have not put the planning into actual ACTION.
    Onward and downward.

I'm probably in the B / B+ range. As you all probably know, I just go along one day at a time, sticking to my plan most days. I am more comfortable maintaining 2-3 pounds below my goal weight and for most of the 'term', I've been on-target. Recently though, I've inched closer to my goal weight. Still OK for WW maintenance / free e-tools but a little higher than I'd like.

I guess I will give myself a D. I'm still not back at goal :( I'm currently 3 pounds above where I was the first of the year; but it could be much worse. I'm still 60 pounds below where I was when I started in 2002.

When I think like this, there's a trap. As in, I become even less interested in course correction. But I fully understand it.

Final grade for the term? I'll give myself a C. But then again I'm an easy grader.

My point (which might have been missed) is that, even though I'm not at goal, I'm still way below where I started. That's always a reminder that I could easily be back at that weight. And that keeps me somewhat reined in.
