It's the holiday temptation time of the year! Lots of parties; family favorite foods; annual Christmas pastries and cookies; etc. And everyone wants you to eat 'just one'!
Friday afternoon was our office Christmas party. This period of the year has always been a 6 lb over 6 week increase in weight. If you are like me, the weight goes on really easy and it goes off....almost never.
I have pledged that this year will be different. Why do I believe that? Because I am publicly making that promise to you, not silently just to me.
Since the party was to start at 2 pm, everyone else waited to eat the junk foods for their lunch. I packed a nice lunch and ate it in the office at 12:30. I was not hungry later when I arrived at the party. I did have a glass of red wine.
At 4:15, when the party was winding down, I had a party hamburger with some chips. That was my early supper. Later in the evening, I had .75 cup of lowfat cottage cheese and 8 Milagro corn chips. I love that combo and it's very satisfying. (about 200 calories).
End result: I was under my calorie limit for the day by 208 calories. With a Christmas party, I have never before planned ahead and avoided the food hangover.

Way to go Rick! You were so wise to eat before the party. Along with Christmas events, December is my husband's birthday and he's also receiving his long awaited Phd., so we have a lot of celebrating ahead. I hope to follow your example.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 207 minutes
167 minutes walking + 5 minutes stretching + 35 minutes day 3, December 30 Day challenges
I was going for minutes, but a drawback of walking outside is that I end up getting caught-up competing with other walkers or racing to the music on my phone. I did almost 10 miles today (fasting) & my legs are numb. Tomorrow will be a very light exercise day.

BTW, if I don't lose at least two pounds this week then the theory about not eating back exercise calories will be discredited. I've been leaving 500ish calories each night this week!

On track and in tolerance. Still close to the wire though. Minimal exercise like yesterday. Just walking to and from nearby store. Didn't really count as exercise calories but did count as my 20 minutes.
Weighed in. Happily surprised.
Tomorrow I am going to try for some climbing. Spin bike if that doesn't pan out. Supposed to be cold.
Snow in some of my favorite places has got me wanting to renegotiate with Mr. Knee. Oh, and hmm, did I mention that I got a shade over 19,000 feet of climbing in Nov? That is 7,000 short of qualifying for the merit badge but hey I got a 70%.6 -

I did the best kind of exercise, I played and danced with my son It was very rainy and chilly all day and my husband jokingly put Frozen on. Well we ended up watching it and then danced around when playing the songs afterwards. I definitely got my 20 min in and it was so fun!
I tracked every calorie and BARELY came in under my goal with 18 remaining.1 -
