Well...one more week to Chrismas and it was a busy weekend. We had our family cookie baking weekend and this ist what we produced....

uaqnzrg8fbny.jpg

Definitely not diet cookies ;) We did reduce the amount and I put my share in the basement. Will pack them for presents on Tuesday as tomorrow is a fast day :p I'm sure there will still be a few leftover for me.

Surprisingly my sister and I went for a run before breakfast today and then an afternoon walk to air out the cookie air in our head and lungs. Both very nice...along the lakeside. Thus at least I did get some exercise in.

Last week of work before the holidays. If I am efficient in my work, I shall close the door behind me midday on Thursday.

Wish everyone a wonderful week and have fun with the holiday preparations!

Those cookies look amazing flumi. I love to bake but I am the only one who eats it so have had to not bake while trying to lose weight. Hope that with 5:2 I can one day have the things I crave... Christmas Cookies are top of list.

I blew the whole week ... didn't really have a true fast day all week. But Monday and Thursday should be no problem this week!

    Good luck everyone !

Oh wowee. You've just inspired me to do more baking with my kids. Christmas baking is my favourite thing to do. My fasts this week are Tuesday and Thursday with having to take my mum on a 200km drive to see a specialist on Wednesday. Friday we fly to the in laws for Christmas. A busy busy week ahead of me.

Last weeks fasts helped me to maintain. I've got shopping to do today and substitute teaching Thursday, so those will be my FD this week. I do enjoy baking, but have never been in the habit of doing a lot before Christmas. I'll be cooking a bit for Christmas Eve and then getting Christmas dinner together on Christmas Day.

In looking ahead to New Years...what resolutions are you thinking of making?

I'm not good at resolutions....just want to stay more or less accountable to myself, stay healthy and happy. Losing the 5kg I've gained back would be nice too. But that's not happening in 2016 :# Will try to buckle down again after Jan 3rd.

Fast was a bit high today as an apprentice brought goodies for everyone on our last day of courses. But still a very low day. Next fast tomorrow and have one planned for Thursday too. No idea if I will fast between the 26th-30th. Might feel like a low day or two inbetween the two holiday weekends :D

Finished a fast! I consistently hit 700 instead of 500. But, it feels so doable and easy and I will aim for 500 calories Thursday. I have a small breakfast and that is what sends me over the edge.

I am looking forward to losing 1/2 pound this week! I will be thrilled With that. Mow, to avoid the temptations at work.... break room filled with holiday treats. Many are my favorites... but I struggle with just one of anything !

Karen, are you a heavy lifter? And are you working with a trainer ?

    Have a great day all!

Well, yesterday's fast ended in 2 glasses of wine and from there, well, I'm sure you can figure it out. I'm using the excuse that the holidays make it hard, but really, sometimes fasting is just hard. I may try again today or just wait until FD #2 on Thursday. I'll play it by ear.

I'm also no longer a fan of large resolutions. However, I do like taking stock and setting some small goals. I have some financial goals and some things I want to accomplish in my ballet class. I do want to get the last 10 lbs off for good. But I try to stay fluid and not get too rigid about my goals.

@megellcor71 heavy ish lol. I do the StrongLifts 5x5. I've not long started back onto it. I don't work with a trainer but I did a few sessions with a trainer to get my form correct. I love the thrill of hitting a personal best (55kg deadlift this morning) and the endorphins are better than chocolate

Uff...one fast at around 750 and yesterdays was very close to 500. haven't had good fasts in the last few weeks, so that is a win in itself. I'm also back to 62.5kg, 2kg of weekend bloat and water are gone. Tummy feels much better for it!

Hoping to have one last before Christmas fast to get me to 62kg. I know, it'll go up again over the holidays, but it is good to know that the overall trend is a slow downward one atm.

Last two half days at work and then I am off....and will enjoy family, friends, sports, etc over the holidays.

Have a great rest of your week!

Managed a solid fast yesterday as well as an impromptu ballet class...life is just better with ballet. I'm planning on subbing tomorrow at my sons school, so I won't have any problem knocking out one more FD this week. Life Flumi, I'm hoping to eke out a loss to remind me that whatever comes back on can be taken off. I'm not too worried about overindulging this weekend. I'm bringing a Caesar salad (I'll have a non vegan and vegan dressing) and what I'd like to eat (being vegan means bringing my own food sometimes) for Xmas eve dinner. Christmas is at my house, so I'll make 2 different types of enchiladas (again, vegan and nonvegan), rice and beans, some type of salad. My mom will bring dessert, so in all, it won't be too bad.

    Cheers everyone!!!

Yay!!!!! After months of hovering between 80kgs and 79kgs I've finally hit 77.8kgs. I'm giving complete credit to going back to the 5:2
Hopefully the weight will continue to slowly creep down

    Awesome Karen!

Finished my last work day before Christmas. Got some errands done including grocery shopping on the way home. Managed not buying much other than was on my list for Christmas dinner. Yay! Because I'm fasting today. :p

Last fast of the week with mostly success. I managed to eat a meal below 500 cals prior to ballet class. However, was ravenous when I got home plus started to feel the beginning of some chest congestion so I caved and had some chickpea noodle soup. I felt is was a good compromise and that, with some Emergen-C, has me holding off feeling yucky. Not sure how my fasts translate to the scale yet (I'll weigh in a few hours), but this week was a win!

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

Firstly I must apologise for not being here at all for a bit I got a bit low, what with not being able to cycle or even exercise with a dodgy ticker, I finally had my cardioversion on Wednesday, and now feel a lot better, I am now looking forward to very slowly increasing my exercise. Max pulse for this week for me is 50, so that is at best a shuffle, but it is better than sitting here feeling sorry for myself.

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Monday and Thursday fasts completed this week. Typical exercise routines followed. Weight and size are stable and in a good place. Restaurant lunch today and party tonight. Work holiday starts today and continues until January 9. Not sure how the break will affect my eating and exercising but I don't intent to stress about it. 5:2 works for me and no matter how the holidays play out, I will be back in the routine the first Monday back.

Does being on a plane and being so unbelievably nauseous I can't eat all day count as a fast day?
Lol. I hate flying but have to pretend I love it due to helping the kids enjoy their flights.
