Any thoughts on adjusting our BMI expectations for POST menopause?

My obgyn has said, twice, that a post menopausal woman NEEDs to have some padding. I've recently been reading up on BMI and osteoporosis, BMI and bone density, BMI and hip fractures....good times.
I'm now wondering if my preferred 22BMI is too low now.....

Mostly I don't pay attention to BMI numbers anymore. I have a bit more muscle than my doc expects for women in their late 50s and so the numbers are always way off. I go for body fat and measurements instead. So, I recognize your frustration!!1

I think I probably have a bit more muscle than expected as well.
I think I'll stick with my 22. Keep my weight steady, and keep doing weight bearing exercise!0 -
I have yet to research that. I'm still quite a ways off from worrying about having too little body fat, haha. Besides, hubby definitely prefers extra "padding" on me so I doubt I'll ever let it get too low.1
