Hello to anyone who is still hanging around here! I have used GB Health watch for the past couple years and have never really loved it, so I gave up finally and have begun logging here. I am frustrated because this system only seems to allow me to track one additional item besides the macronutrients and sugar? Is that correct? So then I have to keep going in and changing it to track iron one day, then vitamin A the next, etc. Ready to get back into daily logging but need more data to motivate my follow through. Anyone on here paying for use of this site? If I pay the annual fee, will it allow me to expand the scope of nutrients I track? Hope you all are well! Happy New Year ☺

No, not paying for membership here. My Dad has a paid membership at MyNetDiary and loves it even better than NM. Tracks everything and really great reports. Have you checked them out Lynn?

Hi Lynn, no, I'm not paying either. In fact, I haven't been logging in a very long time. I am ready to get back into a routine of logging and will most likely do it here, even without all the nutrient info feedback. Let us know what you decide and where you end up logging, I may want to change.

No I have not heard of mynetdiary, I will go see if they offer a trial period. One thing I like about MFP is that so many of us are here and connecting. I think my slide into sloppiness is more related to lack of community, believe it or not. It's more motivating to go it with friends

That is such a true statement, Lynn. I miss community.
I saw Dena's post on fb and totally agree with her, that we accountability buddies. It just doesn't seem as easy anywhere else like it was on NM.

Lynn, me too. I haven't been on for a long time. I have posted very erratically and haven't logged in at least two years because it is so frustrating. Oh, and I don't pay here because it is so frustrating just to put in a recipe with all the ingredient choices being so erratic.

I have thought about NetDiary Mygnsac, is there a community there we can all join into?

Yeah, I wish NM could have become a pay site for all of us. I would have been most grateful Sannferris.

I just did some perusing around MyNetDiary, and find they have an ad supported free membership, as well as a paid one. I could swear when I checked on it before that it was only a free trial, and then a paid membership at the time I was looking, after NM was shutting down. I see that I can add my foods for a recipe, and log those, so I may just go ahead and check them out. If it works out, I might be able to cancel my Gathered Table membership, and pay for MyNetDiary instead.

Here is the FAQ link for MyNetDiary

    Update:

So, I went in to see about the, "free, ad supported account", and it isn't there. It wants you to give a credit card and get a 14 day free trial. This is what I remember from when I was looking into it before. Does anyone know how to get the "free, ad supported account"?

Sorry, anew, I'm no help for that. I'm not adventurous about checking out all the other options. I was lucky enough to find NM through my cousin Nancy (sulahian), and came here with the PBS group and will most likely just hang out here.

I did start logging again on January 1st and have completed 4 full days of logging and it's becoming easier. I am a "close is good enough" gal and therefore just watching the main stuff, calories, sodium, fat...not checking in on every nutrient. But, the act of logging has put my mindset back in check, "Do I want to put that in my mouth?? I'm going to have to log it if I do!!". I have put down the chocolates sitting on the table, I hope John eats those up soon, they are tempting.

I looked at mynet awhile back and did not see the free ad part. Good job on your logging Sheryl. I'm not doing so good now. If I ever logged somewhere else I would still be here pretty much everyday for the PBS. It's worth too much. I'd gotten so I mainly watched the calories so need to get back to watching a bit more too.

Anew, yes, there is a community over on MyNetDiary, but it's as robust as MFP's. I'm not sure about the free, ad supported account. I recall using the trial for awhile and it was okay, but he paid subscription on MyNetDiary is fabulous. Dad swears by it. I also have an account, but haven't been using it for quite awhile. Need to get back to it.

Debora, I'm glad to hear you will keep stopping by the PBS. I'd miss you if you didn't!

What I kept seeing is meal planning, but it seems it is plans they put into it. Not my ability to plan my own meals with my own recipes. That would be perfect if I could do that and add all my recipes to their site. Then it would be worth it to drop Gathered Table. I need a place I can see my recipes so I can pull one up and start cooking. I don't want to have to log there, and then go elsewhere for the recipe. I can do it, I just would like to see it all combined to make it more convenient.
