So what's the difference?

Guess it would be called a "non-scale vistory" since the scales are not especially victorious.
#1) I have exertional asthma. Majority of my life if I went out to shovel the walk I would come back in wheezing and feel like I am going to die. Anything to do with cold and exercise was like a death sentence.
Not so anymore. I walk outside 90 minutes a day, regardless of temperature. I shovelled for 3+ hours the other day and was eager to go for more.
Got zip to do with weight loss, but sure feels like a victory.
#2) I've never had issues with blood pressure, but it was never ideal either. According to the doc my blood pressure is excellent and my resting heart rate is very low 60's which is also excellent.
It was never a concern for me, but feels like a victory.
#3) I've never slept well and never woke up feeling rested, and frequently tired. Until now. I went from 4-6 cups of coffee a day to 1-2 cups a month and zero soda of any kind. Basically zero caffeine in a day.
Despite zero caffeine I have loads of energy, wake up easy and I am actually awake when I wake up, not a zombie.
Certain that is a victory.
I gave up caring about the pounds. Started caring about the living. Still trying to lose weight, just not my main focus. Enjoying the NSV's I discover.
What NSV's are y'all celebrating?

Good stuff. I'm jealous of the energy level thing. I'm down to 2 doses of caffeine a day, but rarely feel energized unless I'm already active.
I'm still celebrating my victory of quitting drinking Sept 6, 1997.
My resting heart rate is also good and I shoveled my driveway yesterday instead of plowing or blowing.1 -
Right now I got zip.
But I know this is the low point in my year. Weight is up, motivation is down. Serious Holiday blues. Happens every stinkin' year.
No worries. Tomorrow is a new year after all and I am determined to; 1) lose the 25 pounds I regain since September and then continue dropping to that magic 175 number, 2) lower my resting heart rate below 60 bpm again and 3) maintain the strength I've gained this year with regular weight training during my off season.
2017's growing season will start middle of March and I will be ready.3
