How do you handle being snowed in?

Good Morning!

Now that we are officially in winter and some of us have to deal with being snowed or iced in, wanted to check in and see how everyone handles it? I know for me personally, it's hard sometimes to stick to eating the best choices. I am sure I am not alone here so wanted to see what you guys did.

Today we have a 2 hour school delay, so I am working from home which always is challenging for me. I am starting my day with a Quest shake - cookies and cream flavor which is pretty good and super thick! Will make my decaf in a while and I plan to drink a lot of water! One good thing about working from home is that I can plan a decent dinner too, so I will do that as well. Not sure yet what I plan to do for snacks...and as we are in the process of selling our house we have to keep everything as clean as possible so I need to wash my Ninja immediately and put it away - no soaking in the sink for a while :(

I try to keep myself busy by being up and around. Generally, I'll try to do house chores or make up a project, like reorganizing closets. It's a boring way to spend a snow day, but it does help prevent the unnecessary kitchen trips.

@chubby_checkers that's awesome and all weekend my husband and I were busy with de-cluttering, cleaning and staging our home. Today I am working from home so it will be a challenge and looks like I have to work from home again tomorrow because I have these engineers coming to check the foundation cracks of my existing home (it's new construction and only 3 years old -- cracks are normal but we want them to give us a letter in case it comes up for or with a buyer). Tomorrow will be tough too...I plan to drown myself in water :)

It's hard because i tend to want to watch movies and snuggle up with the dogs, but on Saturday during our storm, i took down all the christmas stuff, packed everything away, cleaned, moved furniture back to it's normal places, and did laundry. It kept my mind off of snacking and I got stuff done that needed to be done. :)

@StephanieV51697 I am so with you - watching movies with the dogs sounds awesome :) When my lab isn't nuts she is curled up next to me (or on me depending on her mood..lol)

@jcavanna2 and @garber6th - I'm the same way with wanting to stay in when it's cold too. Since the surgery the cold affects me more than it used to and I HATE being cold. :)

I live in CA, I don't actually have to deal with it, I just feel bad for those who do lol. I couldn't handle it. I do get much colder now that I have lost weight. When I go home to NY to visit family, they know if it drops below 50, they have to make sure I stay warm! I have a friend who lives in TX and she said I should think about moving there, but she also said it gets so hot in the summer they stay in for months with blackout shades and the AC running. That seems just as bad as being snowed in! This is where I take my walks in the morning on my days off, and I am lucky I can do this year round. 8p8z08tksz1w.jpg

@garber6th I am SO moving in with you..lol! What an awesome view. That's one thing about living in NC - I am so landlocked where I am. I miss NY and being so close to the water. My train to/from work rode along the Hudson which was awesome!

I was always cold even before surgery (Reynaid's Disease) so I don't see a difference

I can imagine it must be weird, I don't think I have ever lived more than 5 miles from the water!
