Pubic pain with exercise

Hey all! I'm currently 18w6d with baby #2 and I'm experience some pubic pain after walking decent distances (around a mile or so - sometimes less). I remember having pubic pain with my daughter, but it was much later in the pregnancy when she was bigger and putting pressure on it. But I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this and has any helpful hints on how to prevent - other than just not walking since thats my primary form of exercise. I'm wanting to stay in better shape this time around and am wanting to be fairly active so I'm trying to get my 10K steps, but walking on the treadmill (or even outside) leaves me sore that night and the following day. I tried wearing a support band last night when walking - I think it helped a little, but I'm still sore today. I have an OB appointment next week and I'll discuss things with her, but I have this feeling its going to be 'don't walk' or 'suck it up'. Thoughts? Thanks!!

Is it round ligament pain? I get that too, even if I get up too fast.0

I had pelvic pain so distressing I went to the hospital, and it was rough draft ligament pain. It went away after 2 days.0

It doesn't feel like round ligament pain, though I get that too. This is definitely my pubic bone - probably SPD me nothing to be done -_-0

Oh no, that is awful. I hope you have a good chat with your OB, it's hard to know when to power through or take a break, and you'll get the extremes of advice on the net1

I get this too! I'm at 27 weeks and when I walk I get pain below my belly on both sides. This is my first so I don't know if this is normal. I assume its my muscles stretching with the weight but it's difficult to stay active if I'm in pain.0

I'm 22 weeks and I've started swimming for exercise and its great. Causes no aches or pains and is a really good workout in my opinion. Perhaps you could try that?0

@wearmi1 I wish I could! That sounds great - I love swimming, but unfortunately we don't have a facility near us. My OB suggested wearing the support band and perhaps trying shorter strides or an elliptical. Since we don't own an elliptical (we own a treadmill) I think I'm going to try shorter strides with the support band and see if that helps at all. She also suggested sitting on a yoga ball with knees spread and moving hips in a circle to readjust pubic bone. Other than that, if it hurts, stop doing it... she said she had it really bad with her daughter and she was working out the other day (2.5 years after delivering) and still had some pain. -_-0
