I've dipped in and out of LCHF for a few years my question is how many grams of carbs is "allowable" given that I triathlon train (swim, bike, run, yoga) for about 16 hours a week? TIA

@veeski... try Luis Villasenor (google his stuff), you could also get Mark Sisson and Brad Kearns book Primal Endurance out of the library or off Amazon. You could also scroll through KetoGains to find more on your specific interest. ketogains.com/page/2/ Try for some youtube from the Ketogains Seminar Series – Las Vegas (Oct 8/9 2016), it was specifically on strength training, hypertrophy, athletic performance, cyclical dieting, etc.

I'm interested in other responses, too. I'd check out Peter Attia's blog, Eating Academy. He's a low carb triathlete (there is one great post about being overweight in spite of a rigorous training schedule and that is what prompted him to go low carb. Here is a link: http://eatingacademy.com. Also check out Ben Greenfield Fitness at https://bengreenfieldfitness.com. He also has a good podcast. He's an advocate of low carb eating. And of course look up Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek. There are videos on YouTube and they have a book (which I've not yet checked out but want to as I am finally committing to low carb eating for fat loss and to heal some other issues and am a runner) called The Art and Science of Low Carb Performance. I also just discovered (and haven't yet listened to) a podcast called the Ketogenic Athlete podcast.
