My name is Rhonda and I have been overweight most of my adult life. As most, my weight has been like a roller coaster ride with the ups and downs. I am 57 years old and have made a decision that I am so tired of being so tired all of the time and need to lose this weight so I feel better and can be more active with my husband, children and grandchildren. So my most recent journey began four weeks ago when we started a Biggest Loser competition at my workplace. I have lost 20 pounds so far and continue to lose around 2 pounds a week. I am so determined that I will succeed at this, this time!12

My name is Amanda and I have been overweight my entire life. Up until recently, I really had no other health issues. Now it's starting to affect my health and I owe it to my family and my kids to be a better mom and role model. I have tried before in the past, joining biggest loser competitions and other workout/weightloss programs and I find that I put too much stress on myself and then end up giving up because it gets too overwhelming. This time is different for me because I started this one on my own without anyone harping on me and I am making changes that I can continue as a lifestyle change. I know eventually I will have to tweak my method, but for now I can't complain. So far I'm down 15lbs in 15 days and I don't feel deprived or stressed. I'm so excited to finally feel like I have control!8

Oops, I started a thread instead of posting here.
After a visit to the doctor where my bloodwork raised a few questions, I finally got serious about my weight with the new year.
My stretch goal is to drop 100lbs in 2017. So far, I am on track by losing 2lbs a week. Religiously tracking everything I eat has made all the difference for me. I've cut out almost all fast food and junk food. One day I treated myself to a big bag of dorito's from the gas station, I told myself I would make it last several days but devoured it the afternoon I bought the bag. Logging 1400 calories under Snacks put me over for the day but killed my urge to buy even a small bag ever since.

Hello all! New member. Finally digging in with concerted effort to combat this weight. 38, single, professional who travels often for work. I just completed the Whole 30 to kick off this journey and feel great! Focused on healthy whole foods and tracking calories. Beginning workout plan too, starting with walking. Long way to go, but really excited to achieve this success.7

I've been overweight since I hit puberty. I went from being a stick and underweight to being overweight pretty quickly. Since then it's been a slow gain. I'm currently 24 years old and tired of bein fat. The issue I have is I barely eat and when I did, it was carby, starchy, or high calorie. Every time I tried to reverse it before, I ended up giving up because it wasn't money smart to buy my grocery list and whoever else I was living with. And I'd convince myself I was just supposed to be fat. That's who I was. But, I'm pretty fed up with that way of thinking and what I see in the mirror. Plus I need to keep up with my little one soon.7

Hello all! I have at least 100lbs to lose (I'm going to evaluate after that) and it's been a super slow journey so far. I have PCOS and I've been getting heavier since grade school. I've been trying to manage it but sure enough, here we are.

I have an office job so I've been trying to slowly introduce sustainable life changes - walk more, drink more water, hit the gym, cut the carbs, etc. So far so good (this time!). I try and do weights 3-4x a week, cardio 4-5x a week, and I have a personal trainer once a week.
Feel free to add me!8 -
Hi everyone my name is Priscilla and I am in need of a group like this. I weighed myself January 3rd and was totally disgusted with myself I was at an all time high of 247.8. I panicked and said there was no way I was going to reach the 250 mark. I then started to watch what I was eating but there was no guideline to follow or any tracking. I managed to lose 10.8 lbs. A friend then told me about this site and I was THRILLED! I LOVE IT! LOVE THE TRACKING! LOVE EVERYTHING....LOL......I do believe this is a lifestyle change, not a DIET.

Hi my name is Millie and I am 360 pounds, I need a group like this because the people in group is helping, support and accountability. We are currently raising our grandson and can not enjoy many things because of the weight that weighing me down. My goal is to get out of the 300s then challenge myself to lose additional weight. I am in my right frame of mind and honestly if I don't lose this weight I will lose my life leaving my grandson and husband. Yes I am scared and trying to keep strong. I believe with support from this group and my family I can do it. Thank you all9

Hi all. I am a 42 year old woman. I'm married to my best friend. We've been together for 23 years, married 22 years. We have an adult son who is 20. I've struggled with weight since I was 8 years old. I purposefully put the weight on then to get my adoptive parent to stop raping me. It's been nothing but food and diet obsession since. In high school I was thin by using anorexia. The majority of my adult life I've been obese. My husband has loved me through it all. His patience knows no bounds. He is a precious gift to me as well as our son. They are both anchors of support as I break the chains and free myself of the prison of this obesity.

Current plan is to eat healthy nutritious foods as much as possible and is within my control and I'll be tracking and counting macros/calories.
In addition to that I'll be exercising to the best of my ability. Currently I'm following this lovely lady:
8 Minutes Morning Workout
I hope to lean on all of your for support and I want to be a support to all of you.9 -
Hello all. My name is Tammy and after reading all your post, I can say I know how you all feel.....especially the roller coaster comment. I have been up and down with my weight most of my life. Hi everyone. My name is Anna. I've struggled with my weight for most of my life. I reached my highest weight ever back in September of 2016 and decided it was now or never. I am a keto/lchf believer and have been so happy and fulfilled like never before. I am 1lb away from my 60lbs lost milestone, my stretch goal is 150lbs lost. This will be a long journey but for once I finally feel like this is the path I'm meant to be on. I'm learning so much along the way and I am really happy to find a supportive community.
I am here because I feel like its time to break out of my "shell". I've been using MFP as simply a tracking tool and meal planner and I realized that maybe theres more to this experience than just that. I am super shy and quiet in person, so I feel like this is a nice step for me to take. I'm challenging myself to create change, so why not challenge myself socially as well...right?14 -
Hi There, My name is Rebecca I have been over weight since I was very young, I am an emotional eater weather it is happy or sad or stressed thats what I do. I am starting to break the habit. A year ago I hit my all time high and I was so unhappy with myself inside but at the same time because of a lot of crap that I was dealing with I just said who cares. I am happy to say that I am no longer in that situation and free. With my wonderful man to support me I am ready to lose the weight.

I got a fitbit at a discounted rate through my work, and that has been a great help in keeping me motivated to hit my daily goals. I have been doing HIIT workouts and walking around the dog park with my 7 month old puppy.
And I have been recording all of my meals.
So lets do this thing everyone!!6 -
Hi, my name is Barb, I'd like to lose about 130 lbs. I need accountability in my weight loss adventure and MFP does that. I started my weight loss Jan. 16 with a 10 week weight loss challenge at work. Starting at 277 lbs, I am happy to say I am leading the challenge in lbs and % loss and down to 260. I am afraid after our 10 week challenge is over I will lose that accountability - Oh did I mention there is also $150 at stake. So I am looking for a group that will help to keep me on track.7

My name is Staci. I am the heaviest I have ever been. I need to lose 120+ pounds. I have lost 9 since I started tracking almost 2 weeks ago. I am an emotional eater and would mindlessly eat...and eat...and eat. I like how keeping track helps me stay aware of my unhealthy habits. I am here to offer support and ask for support as well. : )6

Hi everyone. I'm Liz. I have been obese or struggling with my weight all my life. At my current weight, (the highest I have ever been), I will have about 190lbs to lose to get to my goal of mid-BMI weight. I'm just beginning the journey, but I want to share it with as many like minded people as I can find. My goals include, eating more fruits and vegetables, cutting out Coca Cola slowly but surely, going swimming, and blogging about it all. Please add me as a friend, message me for support, or tips! Whatever! Tracking for 4 days now has made me feel in control again. I'm feeling great and can't wait to get to know you guys and hope you'll all feel great soon too! We can do this! Keep losing, keep smiling, and see you next time! -lose it like Lauren (a you tube inspiration of mine. Check her out as she lost 146lbs naturally)7

I guess I should have did this first but I posted in the chat section. I am here because I have lost over 100 lbs. I am pretty close to my goal I think, but I really do not have a goal. Even though I have been losing weight for 2 years, I still struggle with the same issues as everyone else. If I can help anyone in any way, I am more than willing.6

Hi! I'm Dee, I've been overweight pretty much my entire life (I think there was a moment there when I was about 2 when I wasn't!) and have waaay over 100lbs to lose. I've tried sooo many times to lose weight. I once even lost nearly 80lbs but wasn't able to maintain it and soon put it all back on plus some more for good luck. Last August a friend I decided to quit sugar together, when I stepped on the scales this month I discovered that in just quitting sugar I had dropped 27lbs. I'm really amazed to be honest and am keen to keep going with my weight loss. So here I am, I've decided if I can do that by just cutting out sugar, imagine what I can do with healthy eating and exercise!
Please feel free to add me as a friend!5 -
Hi guys! I'm Cole. I have 122lbs to lose. I haven't weighed myself since before I began my journey in January. Trying to eat intuitively and pay attention to what my body likes, wants and thrives on. I'm counting calories on the Ketogenic diet. I've been logging consistently since January and it's paying off. Feel free to add me guys!5
