Good morning! I promised Podkey I would pop in if I could!

Just wanted to share that although my circumstances have changed a lot, I've managed to shift my energy along with them to continue to be active in the cycling community. As I was gaining weight and losing both energy and fitness, I shifted focus to helping others get out and ride. I've worked one on one with several beginning riders (including my parents!), volunteered as a ride leader for a kids' mountain biking program, and organized Yoga for Cyclists at a local brewery with one of the women's MTB groups I'm involved with. I've also joined forces with BikeWalk RVA, a local organization dedicated to advocacy efforts for cyclists and pedestrians in the metro area. All of these experiences have been extremely rewarding.

I have managed to do a bit of my own riding, even though I've also been much more sensitive to the cold. I rode up to the start of a charity ride last Sunday, did part of the ride, then rode back home. I've taken advantage of some of the nice days we had this winter to get out and pedal at my own pace.

I'm so excited to finally have started some treatment and already getting energy back, just in time for spring! Planning to get out on trails for a while this Saturday.

Glad y'all are pedaling on through cold and rain. Look forward to hearing more adventure stories!
