I haven't done a TM or a Spartan yet, but from all the different OCRs I've done so far, Rugged Maniac is my favorite. The one I do is at a motocross course and the hills are killer. I also love the festival-like atmosphere, freebies, and inflatables for kids. And, their race t-shirts are so friggin soft I could live in them.

What's your favorite OCR and why?

    Savage Race. Love the obstacles, the distance really is right for me, very well organized. Doing my first Rugged Manic 4/22. Looking forward to it.

    You are on my friends list so you know I have only done a Spartan Sprint. Have the savage next weekend, another sprint in July and then rugged in August. SO will come back then come the end of summer to compare.

    First thought, Rugged being only a 5k will be too short to me.

    I've done a Tough Mudder, Rugged Maniac, and Spartan Race - out of those Spartan was my favorite. Looking at doing Savage and BadAssDash this year.

    Never had a bad time at any of these. All good times, great people, and great experiences.

    My favorite is Spartan....even though I dislike the company itself. In my mind their races mostly resemble what OCR should be. A lot of other companies are getting too technical with their obstacles (think ANW stuff) and remove too much of the running/endurance aspect. I like their more natural obstacles vs the "shock and awe" element a lot of companies are going for which adds in uneeded extra risk.
