I'm stuck

I am told I can only eat 1200 calories a day because of my height. If I burn say 80 calories in exercise can I then eat those additional 80 calories? Confused. Dgeigley

What are your stats? Height, weight, age (approximate age, if you prefer) and activity level?

Very very few people should be advised to eat as little as 1200 calories/day. Basically, only the tiny and inactive need to go that low (and "tiny" means weight too - not just height). And, in most cases, increasing activity level is a better response than eating that little.

But to answer your question, if you burn extra calories due to extra exercise that wasn't part of the plan from which the 1200 was calculated, yes, you can eat those extra calories.

DG, make sure to use the EM2WL calculator to know how much your body burns and needs daily http://eatmore2weighless.com/weight-loss-calculator/ . Make sure to pick the right activity level.

1200 is usually what small children need to eat, not grown-ups.
