It's Active April folks.
Time to get moving.
No need to make your "heart gargle in your throat." Unless that's what you're into.
Active April is about making your goal an improvement in your fitness. Whatever constitutes an improvement for YOU.

So whether you want to train for a 5k or 10k, start HIITing your head off, or just start exercising, period, it's all good.

There will be a sticky at the top of the group with a list of the weekly threads should our thread get buried in this (awesome) group.

Go ahead and post your goals.
Update us daily and receive encouragement and support from your compatriots in the challenge.
Go get it!

    Tear it up!

4/22 OTF signature partner workout for Earth Day (60 minutes, 800+ calories burned)

The plan for this last week is to continue my usual workouts at Orange Theory, go on a 6 mile hike tomorrow, and finish the month strong with a 5k on the 29th!

My goal for Active April was to do 540 kms on my bike, which works out to an average of 18 kms per day. And of course to remain under my carb & calorie goals.

As of today, I've got 454 kms on the odometer, so I'm ahead of schedule and in the home stretch.

Carbs & calories have been good this week as well, and when I weighed-in this morning I had an unexpected but welcome surprise - another woosh. Down 5 pounds this week!

    22 - 4442 steps, bit of a rest day.
23 -7438 steps, 1.5 hours of yoga, but it was really easy yoga because I'm really loose in my hips and shoulders and that's what this week focused on...

4/22 (posted in the wrong thread ;)) I did 2.5 miles of speedwork (including my personal record for sprints speed :)) plus strength. Which was a mistake.
4/23 Rest day. I had the lowest step count of the past 3 weeks (since I got my Charge 2) since my poor legs are trying to recover from yesterday. The race where I'm hoping to PR is just 3 weeks away so I'm trying not to injure myself. ;)

4/23: rest day. Too much running for family and others...plus...ummm...I wanted to play BF2 with the kids and the hubby so I did. For hours.

Back to the sweatfest today with strength.

I'm betting it was fairly ridiculous. Me...ballet...Vader...purple and white Eeyore pants. Classic viral video.
Ranks just below the time I tried one the of big ball workouts when I was still 250lb...

    Good Morning.

Was a glorious spring day here in New England. The trees look amazing and all the shrubs are in full bloom.. Need to get out this weekend and take some pictures.

I love it when I step on the scale and I'm down 1 pound after the weekend. Great Motivation this week.

Going to really get back to Keto and enough futzing around with this gain one - lose one...

Enjoy the day if you can get out!

4/23 I was planning to go hiking with my girlfriend but I wasn't having such a good day and didn't feel up to it. Not feeling well also resulted in eating poorly.

4/24 so far has been an active rest day. I am way far behind on two of my monthly goals so the plan for the rest of the day is to catch up on pushups and floors.

In January I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and tomorrow I go back to the doctor for labs. That means in a few days I find out how well I have/haven't been doing. I will be leaving the doctor and going straight to OTF.

I did well last week at keeping in my range for activity and taking a day off. I didn't get around to reporting yesterday as I normally would have because I was just a bit off my game dealing with a car accident on the way to work. Fortunately no serious injuries but my car is totaled as it the other driver's car.

A little sore this morning, so my workout was not very intense. Today was leg day and I have just enough soreness from the bruise on my knee to make some of the range of motion difficult.

thanks for the well wishes. I took the day off from work today to try to take care of all the craziness around replacing transportation. Fortunately, a friend from church is loaning me his truck to do all this running around and I have a good support structure here to help in other areas. Just still praying the other driver is ok. She seemed ok and just a little sore right afterwards, but I think we all know sometimes it takes time for the shock to wear off before the pain sets in.

4/25 Strength day @ OTF 60 minutes, 908 calories burned. Came home and did 30 floors up and down, followed by 30 pushups.

I went to the doctor today and he seemed super impressed with my progress. Now I just have to wait for lab results to come back. I had him compromise with me because I didn't want to go on medication to control my diabetes. The deal was that if I could not get my HgA1c under 6 (started at 7.4) in three months, we could revisit the whole medication thing.

According to the doctor's scale when I went for the first time on January 28th I was approximately 212 pounds and today I was 200.2 so at least he is seeing consistent progress in the weight loss department.

Also, I have to go get a chest x-ray soon as I am pretty sure I have been walking around with a previously broken rib that didn't heal correctly.

4/26 Originally scheduled class at OTF for 6:45PM but there was a power outage so they canceled class. Instead of skipping for the day, my girlfriend and I called another studio and went to an 8PM class instead (60 Minutes, 945 calories) I also burned another 238 calories doing floors and pushups.

4/27 Early morning class at OTF (60 Minutes, 851 calories) then came home and did floors and pushups for 30 minutes, burning another 358 calories.

2 miles in yesterday. I'll only be getting 1 mile this afternoon during my trek across the hospital (yes, its a mile) to get my allergy shots. If its nice this evening I'll try and get another mile or two in on the trails.

Yikes, that is quite the accident, @cstehansen ! Glad you're OK!

I apparently overdid it on both Saturday and Tuesday with my runs (plus the strength I did on Sat) so I've had to take more rest days than I would have liked. I did at least hit 10k steps yesterday and am about to head to the Y for a training run.

Eating has been good. Except someone left a huge coffee cake at my house this morning that I'm trying to ignore. :tongue (DH and the boys will enjoy it when they get home.)

Yes! According to the size on the clothes I am anywhere in the range from a size 1/2 to a size 5 juniors. However this is only for a short time and I am going to attempt to lose 10 more pounds of fat and then bulk and build 10 pounds of muscle.

@fanncy0626 You are so close. I have 22 lbs of fat left to lose. I have a feeling building muscle is harder than losing the fat.
