Haven't met my step goal at all but I feel I've been way more successful in other activities so I'm not too phased:

    24/4 - Kick scootering 15 minutes, Zumba 50 minutes. ( 7,682 steps)
    25/4 - Rest + Food prep day (5,167 steps)
    26/4 - Kick scootering 50 minutes, Aquacise 50 minutes. ( 7,863 steps)
    27/4 - Kick scootering 15 minutes, Circuit Training 30 minutes. (6,761 steps)

Just had a look at my garmin connect and noticed it graphing my activity time (Aquacise, Zumba, Circuit Training and scootering) and I'm definitely having a very active april:

Though looking at total active calories I've replaced a lot of my walking calories with other activities e.g scootering.

Cathy that is what I was thinking! Harder because you have to eat at a surplus and fat wil be an unwanted result along with the muscle.

Yesterday I did 4 miles overall and some heavy-for-Me lifting in the form of yard work. My blood sugar was 128 this morning and that's the lowest it's been for longer than I can recall.

I'm finishing out the month at just over a mile with a little more yard work.

I met my goals of keeping my activity at a more normal level all month and taking a day off each week. This was in an effort to lower cortisol which the doc seems to think is a significant driver of my high BG.

After a month, my BG stayed even month over month from March to April on average, which is not good as it has been trending steadily (albeit slowly) down each month by an average of about 2 points. It also seemed to be much more inconsistent with some spikes which were much higher than I have seen in a long time.

Some would look at this as a failed experiment. Personally, any experiment that gives me usable data is a good one, IMO. I will be taking these results and doing some different experimentation in May.

I see this as an opportunity to work on my patience as there is no such thing as as instant success in finding optimal health. I am pleased to be on the lower end of pre-diabetic without meds so far. If I can get it to trend down just a little more to get into the "normal" range, I don't care if it takes a month or a year, as long as it happens, I will be happy.

Good luck to all with your May goals!
