I've a bunch of containers of used strips and now collecting needles. How do I dispose of them? I know just throwing them away is bad....

I don't know anyone interested in recycling them :s, but you can cram the strips and a couple lancets in an empty strip cannister and just pitch them or drop them at a clinic or doctor's office with medical waste bins. (I only change the lancets every few weeks and go through 5-10 strips/day, so there's plenty of space.)

a "sharps box" works well. where i live i can simply throw the box in my trash... other places you can get rid of the box is usually at your dr's...

Here in Ottawa, and I'm sure a lot of other places, the pharmacies have a sharp container(usually free). When it is full, you bring it back and they give you a new one. Check your pharmacy or clinics in your area.

A plastic water bottle or a empty medicine container works for me.
