What a week...

So had to work from home Monday because my older dog wasn't doing too well. Got a 3:30 appt on Monday but had to bring my daughter. She had a kidney infection so they wanted to keep her overnight to give her meds and fluids.

Got to work yesterday and got a call around 8:30 that my dog passed - hit me like a ton of bricks. Went home right away and it was not a good day food-wise even though I had planned meals.

Today I went to the office and the school nurse called because my daughter had a fever, sore throats, migraine and is nauseas. I had to drive an hour home to get her and we are leaving soon for her pediatrician...another afternoon making not such great choices.

Told my husband HE is taking her to work with him (he works at a bank branch, I am in an office and have tons of meetings tomorrow). He is taking tomorrow off now...

Friday I was supposed to work from home in the morning and have a half day PTO because o have to take my daughter to the ADHD specialist - it's the first appt so will be 3 hours long. I plan to bring snacks and a book to keep me occupied.

I was so focused on making this a great week and then all of this stuff happened...really hope next week is a better week and I will try to make better choices with the next meal. Been a very rough and emotional week so far...

Sorry to hear about your rough week. I am sure you will find a way to weather the storm. Moms are awesome! Always tough to lose a pet, especially unexpectedly.

Big hugs to you! So sorry for everything that happened. :'(

We really need a sympathy icon on here (in the "like" area).

That sounds like a truly crappy week. I'm so sorry about your dog. Losing a pet is really difficult. I hope next week runs a little smoother for you.

Big hugs, sorry youve lost an animal member of your family

Good luck with the specialist. My daughters first assesment appointments were hard going emotionally having to focus on the negatives and on how different she is to others but its one of those necessary evils

I'm so sorry about your dog. I'm a "dog parent", so I fully understand how heartbreaking losing them is. They are never with us long enough!

Thanks all! Losing our dog Molly came out of left field. My daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD and mild anxiety about 1 1/2 years ago but I know in my gut that the doctors either didn't nail her diagnosis or they aren't treating her properly. One pediatric neurologist thinks part of it is due to the fact that the anxiety isn't being treated only the ADHD is. My coworker recommended this ADHD specialist and has seen a huge change within days in his son who is now off of his IEP.

Adding insult to injury, her school called yesterday and she was sick (nausea, headache, sore throat and fever) so the doc did a strep test. The quick one came back negative and her fever broke in the afternoon so hope we are on the up and up!

Thank you @Lisidy! I can't wait to resume to some sort of normal and get myself back on track! I made a payment towards my 100 lb goal reward to kind of give me a dangling carrot and help me re-focus.

My first and only dog, ever, is now 8 yrs old and I am dredging the situation you now find yourself in. I can't imagine how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. It has to be so hard. Sending positivity your families way.. . ((((Hugs))))

Thanks @Jen_VSG2017 - it definitely sucks losing her but I would never imagine life without her. As bad as the pain is when you lose a pet, what they give while they are here far outweighs how you feel losing them. My other dog Sadie is going to be 2 in September so if we get another dog I won't wait until she is much older like Molly was so that she will be able to have a friend vs a nuisance..lol

JEN! I'm SO sorry! I haven't been online since before you posted this! Please, call me any time! Don't worry if my parents are in, or if you think I've got crap on my plate! I'm here! SO MUCH SUCK. So sorry about Mollie, my heart goes out to you guys!

Any time you find yourself struggling with food because of suck, call me. Any time you need an ear, call me. I'm here. I've been a crappy friend lately, and I'm sorry about that. You've been nothing but awesome!

@NicoleL874 I definitely didn't want to bug you and believe me I was a basket case last week (more than usual..lol) so you wouldn't want to talk to me last week anyway. I will definitely call when I go through those periods if I am going to go off the rails, esp during times like that. And you have NEVER been a crappy friend so get that crazy thought out of your head! :)

Made some grilled chicken breast yesterday (marinated it in measured BBQ sauce), cubes up Monterey Jack cheese and I cut up 3 large navel oranges and a container of strawberries and made it a damn pretty fruit salad so I have that too! :) Also brought an Oikos chocolate yogurt (triple zero) so hope I like it. The one yogurt which is pretty low on sugar and I love I have to travel at least 20 mins for and no time for that today. But it's called Smari and is an Icelandic yogurt - OMG love the stuff especially the mango so I may have to make a trip on my way home to get it so I have something somewhat tempting to have even though it's pretty healthy. Getting my sorry *kitten* up and out of the house at 4:30 am tomorrow to get my butt to the gym!
