Everything I have to chew to eat is making me feel awful. Hypersalivate, have those wonderful chest pains. Meat, cheese veggies all the same. Protein drinks are ok so is yogurt. Really bad indigestion too.

That sounds terrible. I wish I had advice, but I have not had that issue. I hope this passes quickly.0

I went through that too - for me, I was eating too fast and didn't chew well enough. I found that chewable papaya enzyme helped or I had a few small sips of water which made me throw up but it made me feel better.0

This. I didn't go through it, but my husband did and still does occasionally, even at almost 2 years out. He sometimes made himself throw up, other times it would just happen. It also seems to go in phases, so I would recommend tracking it, like note when it's happening, what you ate, how you ate (too fast, too much, etc).
Take small bites, chew really well, eat slowly so you can pay attention to how full you are feeling. That should help.1 -
Is it happening when you eat the first bite of food? Or when you are full. I had to recognize my 'full' signal. For me it was a tightening in the chest (and sometimes an unexpected sneeze). If I was eating too quickly, there were times where I would get the full signal but had already eaten the next bite or two, which lead to the foamies, and eventually the extra would come back up. It really helped me learn to eat slower those first months.1

@Rpyle111 it happens too soon. It's not full. I've made that mistake enough to know.
@jcavanna2 You may be right. But the acid when I'm not eating is way up too. Maybe stress? Work crazy, home crazy.. Friday is my dads b-day he would be 92. He has been gone 28 years. He had one heart attack, in the hospital, connected to a heart monitor. He was 64. I will be 64 in 11 years! It's also the day my mom died, cancer 34 years ago. My MIL is losing her hair, she started chemo last week. She is in bad shape. It's everywhere. My 16 year old is undergoing testing for a tumor this week too. He is nonplussed and wants to know if he will be able to rock climb, surf and get tested. Priorities. Probably not cancer but...STRESSED!!!0 -
Prayers for your stress to be resolved in positive ways!2

@pneschich I am SO sorry to hear about what you are going through! It definitely could be stress. I do recommend trying the papaya enzyme..it can help neutralize the acid too. Good luck with everything and please let us know how things turn out!0

Prayers for stress relief for you!! Gentle hugs too!
The indigestion you're having is likely from acid reflux. The acid backs up into the esophagus and makes it hurt. This can happen with or without food and at any time. Your doctor needs to be aware of this.
I had this problem too. I had always suffered with heartburn and then about three months after VSG I began to have episodes of vomiting bile. This random vomiting continued and was only resolved after converting to RNY.
I hoping your resolution is easier!0
