Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Here is a little reminder that good health requires more than just tracking intake and exercise. This is a simple wellness cycle.
BTW: this month has been super fun for me. So many of you have added your own energy to make the UAC is very healthy and encouraging team for everyone. Yesterday, @phoebelayla kindly reached out to me to give me a gracious nudge to get back to my cardio. I was a off the rails. Thanks, Phoebe!
And thanks to the whole team for all you are doing for yourselves and each other.

Well, here is me trying to touch on all of them dots in Rick's info graphic.
Dietary travelogue. I get off the internet, outside the range of data and cell service, tracking becomes kind of intuitive. Then I wonder about the legitimacy of saying yes to tracking. But I am down a few pounds and I am getting some good exercise or recreation.
I spent some quality time this week on a scrabbly road hiking and biking. Heh, five hours yesterday. I don't know how much today. More than twenty minutes.
I love a scrabbly road that I got mostly to myself. Problem with that is if I fall off my bike and break my ankle or hip I might be laying there a while before someone comes along. Possibly overnight.
20 miles out and back some of it riding, some of it walking, all of it is time spent not eating. I take food, but you know, not really Fritos or Pringles. Belvitas are pretty good. They got protein, carb and minimal fat. Apple and a banana goes in the bag. Belvita is 250 cals. I like them but don't get to eat the whole box even though I want to.
The road, I love a dirt road that doesn't go anywhere. This road has got its ups and downs between 10 and 11 thousand feet. So it is a good place to acclimate to some altitude. Get your anaerobic experience that way. The last couple of miles is too steep for me to ride up so I push my bike. Then coming back down it the realization is that it is even too steep to ride down. It is so scrabbly and rough that you bounce a lot. When you are bouncing your wheel isn't on the ground. When your wheel ain't on the ground you ain't got no friction. When you do get friction it will be on these rocks that roll under your wheel and kick your wheel out sideways. That is disconcerting enough for me to walk down a hill. Weird eh?
Another fascination of this road is that runoff or meltwater cascades across the road in places. That is some cold water. It is 100 plus degrees everywhere I know people is at but this water is so cold that if you were stuck immersed in it for 10 minutes I bet you would be dead of hypothermia. That'd be weird. Hypothermia on the hottest day of the year.
But the big question about this water cascading across the road is, can I splash through it without stalling in the middle of it? See how this works is that he more water there is the bigger and looser and slicker the rocks under foot are. My dread is that if I mug out half way I will do a hard dismount into big ankle twisting rocks. So here is BadBob letting a little air out of his ego and pushing his bike across the cascade. But some of them cascades I can splash on through though. That is how that is.
But that ain't nothing. The best part is the sun going down. Of course I got pictures of that but get this. The other night was waning crescent. That is like no moon. So it is a dark night. And at 10,000 feet the dry clear air has got some nice optical qualities. There is no haze. So you look up and see more stars than you have ever seen. So I ain't gonna sleep in a tent. I am going to just pump up my air mattress, put my sleeping bag and a pillow and go to bed wearing my glasses so that them stars will be in focus.
Man o man! I could see meteors or meteorites streaking across the sky. They seem so close that you could imagine a smoke trail behind them.
I could see the Milky Way galaxy!
Man o man!
Sometimes I think that road for me is borderline age inappropriate. I wonder when I got to quit doing it. Maybe not this year.

Came home yesterday with my torso covered in hives. I still feel itchy but most of them are gone. I need calamine lotion in a spray. I knew I was feeling off when I left can only hope it's not a reaction to the girls eating the new candy. As it took all day to show up yesterday today it could flare earlier as I still have them. Today is my long day I will be wearing cotton and hoping for the best.0

Exercised?: Yes. Walked 2.8km in 22 minutes (Flat).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Working in the city today. Took long route to further station to get the exercise in.
@bocasdelbadbob. Road is not borderline age inappropriate, you are old enough and wise enough to appreciate it. You also can take some form of precaution (like a sat phone or personal locator beacon), so if the worst happens you can be found and attended to. If the body and mind are willing, why not pursue what you enjoy.
@RangerRickL. Thanks for the infographic. Very true (I fall short on the meditation bit though and the positive thinking is often a struggle).
I turn 49 tomorrow, so may be first pass day in 2 months (I'll see how it goes). Food is not a big driver for me, so overeating is not usually a problem.

Check in following my conference day. Was pleased with myself for enjoying the good food but not over-indulging most of the day. Completely left the sweets on the table in front of me alone (not worth the calories when so uch good food around at breaks etc). The only time I got a little carried away was on the nibbles that came out with the drinks when socialising at the end, a bit too much smoked salmon really although I only drank water. Tracked on paper during the day and logged this evening at home. Overall came in under calories after 20 minutes rowing this morning and 60 minutes exercise bike tonight. Will catch up on everybody else's posts in the morning - have a good day.4
-
@aeshippers - good for you passing up the sweets and keeping accountable. I know you must be happy to get through the conference doing so well.
@2020pinktogo - itchy hives, blech. No fun. Hope they are gone soon.
Thanks for beautiful pic @bocasdelbadbob! Uh oh, I just realized something. All of this time, I have been sending mentions to bocasdelbob.... not realizing that you were "bad" bob. Oh boy, sorry that I had your name wrong, and I need to go apologize to not bad bob for always "@" ing him.
@RangerRickL - The infographic is spot on. The older I get, the more I realize how important each of those legs of the stool are to keep us upright. I try to teach the importance of all of these aspects of a healthy life to my kids, and notice when one is off... and they would probably say that I bring it up all too often. Lol.2 -
@bocasdelbadbob , love the picture. You are amazing. I love reading about your hikes. I just realized what my problem has been all my life..........I never, ever thought about age appropriate..........maybe I SHOULD be doing that...lol............but no I want people to remember me this way.
I am so thankful for my awesome friends. I had a girlfriend deliver, BBQ'd chicken done up n portions for Bud & I, homemade light quiche, and breakfast buritos(lots for freezer) with recipe I put in MFP so have all nutritional info on what we r eating. .....WE ARE TRULY BLESSED. Our sons and gandson in law..lol are coming this evening to clean up the yard(we have 1/2 acre so not a quick job). Feeling very thankful today!7 -
@pribud I'm so pleased you're being well looked after. You deserve it!
@bocasdelbadbob thanks for the photo and the amazing story. Enjoy those stars. I find there's not much better than stargazing for the mediation @RangerRickL is advocating. And I've been a UACer long enough to know that @bocasdelbadbob @bocasdelbobdog and @bocasdelbob are one and the same. Liking the latest name!
@aeshippers well done for your great will power.
@craigo3154 happy birthday for tomorrow! Wishing you a healthy and happy last year of your 40s.
@2020pinktogo I really hope you're not suffering too much. I know it's never on your agenda but please rest and look after yourself.
@RangerRickL thanks for that! Sleep is my downfall at the moment and leads to problems in all the other areas. But last time I complained about sleep here I was sent several (well intentioned) emails from UACers who aren't around at the moment which weren't entirely well received by me. Well, I said thank you though gritted teeth but yes I have got a routine in place for my daughter thanks. She's just a *kitten* sleeper. So please no advice and I won't whinge again
Anyway, today was a yes x 31 -

Pass day I went over by 32 calories which I could exercise away but the hives are spreading so giving the body some rest. Today was donut day and I was not tempted. My coworkers hate having break with me as I eat my banana and they eat donuts. Though today a plate was brought out and people were cutting the donuts in half and sharing. Maybe I am starting to rub off on them.
@Gus130 Just take it slow and baby steps.6 -
@bocasdelbadbob What a gorgeous area for a hike and ride! I'm so jealous (Florida is very flat).
Exercise: Yes, a little over 30 minutes of Tai Chi again.
Calories: Yes
Tracked: Yes3 -
Good evening everyone. I hope all of you who are not feeling well or have health issues feel better soon.
I will be taking a pass day as I haven't done any form of organized workout today and I'm too tired to do it this late again. I cleaned house and played outside with the pups for about an hour, but for the most part, it wasn't very energetic so I'm not counting it as exercise. Also, my calories were borderline over into the few calories from my Fitbit. I did track though.
We finally saw the sun today, but it is raining now. It has rained for a solid week. We've gotten over 8" since Monday. I'm so ready for it to dry out.
Goodnight to all.

In the past, whenever I would visit my mom, I would always go over my calorie limit due to eating what she prepared for me and the fact that I also indulged myself in comfort foods.
Today, I packed my gluten free bread and some Milagro corn chips and took off for a 215 mile trip to see Mom.
These days, my Mom cares for my step Dad and since he is housebound, she is too.
She no longer cooks, and they prefer to be alone during meals. My step-Dad has difficulty eating. I had no problem staying under my calorie limit and eating gluten free. That was a first!
Calories: under by about 260
Tracking: good
Exercise: easy day walking. Tomorrow, I will be lifting and loading 45 lb hay bales and will definitely get a major workout.
