Hi Guys,
A Facebook group(Low Carb Zen) posted this and I was wondering about anyone's experience with Monk fruit as a sweetener...

I like it when blended with another sweetener.... starts With an X. It's in gum... cant recall the name atm. By itself I find it has an odd aftertaste

Cannot find monk fruit on its own in the UK for love nor money. It's always 'cut' with something else.

I think you probably meant Xylitol.

When I look at the low carb sites that talk about the various sugar replacements, that is the one thing that they say is the drawback of this sweetener. I don't see the 'dextrose' most of the sites mention as an additive on the ingredient list. I decided to email the company to see what they say about it. It is a small company, so maybe they will answer me.

Or maybe order it and buy a glucose monitor and test it myself. Seriously considering it. I wonder if someone has a thread about steps for measuring IR to foods?....

I use Monkfruit Sugar, I was lucky and there was some pure stuff locally. I prefer it to the "Swerve" stuff - smoother and better to bake with, and I use less of it. Does not seem to spike my blood sugar at all. :)
