Hello, Nice to Meet You

I've been lurking for a while and decided it's time to introduce myself. I have T2D and after some experimenting (including ignoring it altogether), I've come to the conclusion that LC is the way for me. I concentrate on my bg readings. I don't necessarily count carbs or calories. To keep my readings down, I keep my carbs down. Generally 20g or less per meal with 10g or less at breakfast. This is working for me. I find this way of doing LC is less stressful and manageable for me. And it's working! My bg are trending downward as is my weight.

I really like this site because there seems to be all kinds of low carbers here. The advice is good and plentiful and respectful.

My next challenge is to work in a work out or two.

    MY H has lost over 40lbs and has cleared himself of T2D... He has fewer that 50g of carbs/day..... Which is what worked for him....

    I know I've heard great things about even a simple leisurely paced, 10 minute walk after meals for better blood sugar. Might be a good way to start some exercise. ;)

    I first got acquainted with LC when I got pregnant with my 2nd and had gestational. I pretty much threw out all that they suggested and went LC. I had great success until I got back to the SAD. Now I'm back with great results. Welcome and wishing you great success!! It's a great group and highly supportive!

    Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been mostly keeping on track. I'm going to work in a couple of walks after lunch and dinner. It's going to take a little more lifestyle change to workout before/after breakfast. Small steps (and portions) work well for me.
