As you know, I inherited the UAC after it was abandoned by it's founder. One of our law school maxim's was, "It's easier to edit than it is to draft original material." That is what I did with the UAC. I just edited the original material to give it my own spin and to fit my own life. I did not start over.
One of the original discussion starter headings is, "What's on your mind?"
I left it there, and no one ever posted ANYTHING there for 12 months, until now. There is a very interesting thread going in that section. I invite you to take a look.
Have a great weekend,
Rick

Back on track today.
I spent nearly 3 hours in the garden today decimating my climbing roses (haven't even done half yet either). Doesn't seem to matter how hard back I cut them they will require a trim again by about Christmas and by the end of the summer they will be making another bid for garden domination. When we moved in to this house the garden was very overgrown in places and under one area of overgrown rose and clematis we found 2 patio tables and chairs!! Takes a lot of work to stop it going back to that. Tomorrow we start on the trees for next winter's firewood.
Tracking and calories good.9 -

1160 calories burnt today. Exercised, walked into town, and walked the woofies so very active again today. Not to mention the household chores.

Exercised: yes. Been working on strengthening my arms and abs today (doing a few challenges). Then I got this crazy idea of starting a jumping jacks challenge. Day 1: 160 jumping jacks. I did them in one go, but just about died. As the number increases, I will definitely be splitting those puppies up.
Calories? Very good.
Tracked? Yes
Feeling a little discouraged by the number on my scale and the calorie deficit I've been having. But i won't give up.10 -
8th of July
Exercised; Yes, both swimming (30-40 minutes; the clock was broken) and took a 40 minute walk in the woods
Calories; Yes (and I even had dessert!)
Tracked: Everything.
I'm thinking of weighing myself tomorrow for the first time in a while. Both nervous and excited to see if anything has happened - but even if nothing has shifted on the scale, I can already feel that my body is stronger and thus happier.12 -

My husband goes your home early. In the past I would have stayed let my sister wear me down till I was emotionally raw. Today we spent time together but when I felt tired I said time for me to go. I am making a conscious effort of making myself a priority. Give me another year or so and I might get really good at this .
Yes x36 -

After 6 more hours in the car made it to our Cape house. Got a 30 minute beach walk in and then picked up my rental bike at the shop. Sent family grocery shopping (big mistake!!!- cookies, muffins, chips etc) while I got an hour on the bike trail.
Tracked-yes.

Exercise: 1 hour walk on the trails with the dog for 4 miles and 30 min of yoga
Calories: Under goal
Tracked: Yessss
30 day yoga challenge: 8 days done
Miles: 25.5 for the week
Lesson Learned: Every Saturday my boss buys us lunch and Lord help me if it's a place that has limited healthy options. I usually dread it. SO today I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich w.out the bun and a small baked potato w/ a little butter. I typically do not order chicken breast because they are GAWD awful boring, tasteless, and overlooked. Gimme a thigh anyday. I sucked it up anyway. It was a tough menu but I made it happen. I reallllllllly wanted Chipotle but I knew I wouldn't have the calories!10 -
Yes, yes, yes. Still minimal exercise, but hanging in there.10

It's a good thing I had exercise calories to help me out today. Yikes!! A good brisk walk for an hour with a friend this morning and then playing in the pool for an hour with our NZ friends who have a 5 year old daughter. The game called "Marco Pool" is a very fun pool game AND burns lots of calories. Our afternoon snack (or afternoon tea) were some very delicious mini cupcakes with butter icing that our NZ friends so graciously bought as a treat. We also had watermelon.8

I started my day with a decent workout but snacks got the best of me. Slightly over on calories so this is pass #1.4
