When I am trying to get back in to ketosis (& fully fat-adapted) I get a little obsessive and do it 2-3 times a day. After I know that I am in, just 1-3 times a week.

Costco has good prices on the Precision Xtra - under $20.

If you're diabetic and have a doctor's statement of need, your insurance may cover testing supplies, including ketone test strips.

I recently discovered this company, which will work with your US insurance, Medicare, Medicaid. They take care of the paperwork - they send forms to your doctor to complete, then contact your insurer directly.

I had boxes of ketone test strips (per my doctor's statement of need) within a week of my first contact.

You're welcome - and thank YOU because this reminded me to order Precision Xtra blood ketone strips and they have 'em the cheapest I've seen right now (under $1.60/strip right now) if you buy 50 or so- woo hoo! http://stores.ebay.com/ANNEECAKES-KETONE-STRIPS

@62apples , I need to get a meter for my sister, so I will report back if I find a great deal on those!

Hey, there's a new blood ketone meter that is just coming out right now and they are making it for the Ketone community. Right now they have a pre-sale deal going on where you can get the blood ketone strips for .99 each for life if you buy during their prelaunch. the website is http://keto-mojo.com

Jimmy Moore has a new meter and the strips are just $1, which is the best I have ever seen.

Nope, not cheaper and the strips are the same price. As said above, the previously cheap meter is no longer available. But fieldmitch found this new source. That is what I preordered; they will ship mid Sept. Paid through Amazon so that I can be sure that I get my meter or my money back.

Love it! I am going to try out the mojo-meter thing. Must be a lot pressure to compete because my favorite supplier is down to $1.46/strip (if you buy 2 sets of 50) for Precision Xtra w/ free 2-3 day shipping http://stores.ebay.com/ANNEECAKES-KETONE-STRIPS . Maybe the price on these things is really going to stay down this time!

This company was acquired by Edgepark (which is likewise happy to go between your doctor and insurance carrier to get glucose and ketone testing supplies into your hands).

Another chapter - Edgepark turned out to be out-of-network for non-Medicare orders...

However, CCS Medical Supplies http://ccsmed.com, verified insurance coverage the same day I called and will ship in 2 business days after getting the doctor's statement of need for blood ketone and glucose strips.

Good service so far, and they carry a wide range of testing supplies.
