I had my gastric bypass November 2015 and i also had my gallbladder out that same surgery. We since then i have had the worst pain ever in just about the same spot as the gallbladder pain was. I have been to every specialist we can think of and NO help, so my primary care physician asked me to post in this group and see if anyone has or is experiencing the same thing? And if so do you know whats causing it? It hurts under my right side ribs and the pain travels around my sideto my mid back. Its constant and gets worse if i life or do anything that would use the muscles in that area. I would love to find anyone going through what i am

Found this online "About 1 in 7 people with gallstones willdevelop stones in the common bile duct. This is the small tube that carries bile from the gallbladder to the intestine. Risk factors include a history of gallstones. However, choledocholithiasis can occur in people who have had their gallbladder removed."
I had mine out years ago but I recall my surgeon telling me that removing it didn't guarantee I would never have another attack.

Have they considered pancreatitis? That sounds very similar to what I experienced shortly after my gastric bypass. My gall bladder had been gone since 2011 but, after my surgery, I developed debilitating pain. I still have some pain occasionally and could be either stones or chronic pancreatitis...but it is no where as bad as it was and is manageable.
