I also got a gym membership for a new gym opening up in July. Kinda nervous because I've always had bad times with gyms in school. I'm basically a gym virgin lol.6 -

I spent my first 6 or 7 months or so on MFP losing a bucket load (actually several bucket loads) of fat. Lost 35kg of fat (around 77 lbs), so BMI perfect. Then went erm... now what?
For the last year or so I've been *trying* to gain muscle. From March to October last year, I failed spectacularly, but gained a lot of strength. For the last 6 months or so I seem to have found the magic combo, and started to gain muscle, keep my general fitness, and aiming for my first *proper* official short triathlon in November.6 -

I started MFP 8 weeks ago and it's the best thing I've ever done. I've never committed to weightloss with anything else, shakes etc. I can't remember what motivated me to start, and the first week was difficult but I'm so glad I stuck it out. The MFP community is so supportive and kimd, I love it.

I've started and stopped more times than I can count, but this is the most I have ever weighed. This time I have to stick with it. I struggle with the issue of perfection and circumstance seems to dismantle my efforts to lose the weight, but I need to change how I handle it. Looking for more friends, as I don't really have a suppirt system in this aspect of my life.
I'm doing a version of low carb, and it seems to be working for me.
It's not super active on here, but I hope that changes because I miss having community since my favorite queer social site shut down.
