Hi! I'm back on this challenge and am really needing it! May-July were extremely busy for me, but I am ready for the challenge now. Thanks for keeping this going!5

Hi @IamIam2013
We've missed you!!4 -
Congratulations to our July 2017 Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) team members who finished in the Winner's Circle!!
This is no easy task, but if you ask @SimonsChange it can literally be a walk in the park. He is one of our team heroes who has made hiking in parks his way to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Others like @fightingthetideofaging explore lots of different fitness classes and opportunities to workout with friends.
@Craigo3154 is another hiker in the hills near his home in Australia
@pribud is recovering from surgery but that does not stop her from pushing outside her comfort zone even though she is still has to use a walker.
Here is the entire list of our July champions:

This is not the typical MFP challenge. Although it is posted in one month intervals, it's truly about developing healthy habits to last a lifetime. Congratulations for being here!
Read the list above and be encouraged!!!
We actually like helping each other to do the right thing. You are welcome here!

Ya! A new month ! I realised that the posts from my iPhone seem to be cutting out oh well never mind
Today is a yes x3 to all key goals. Up very early for some treadmill time whilst the dark winter continues here in NZ. I had a specialist appointment who raised some concerns around my weight for the first time in my life but I'm just going to use it to fuel the fire and keep on going9 -
Welcome to August everyone and a new start for me after the last week of July went off course.
Congratulations to all who made the winner's circle for July.
Exercise: 30 minutes exercise bike and 20 minutes strength
Tracking: Yes
Calories: Just8 -
July 1
Exercised?: Yes. Walked 14km in 120 minutes (hills - from and to car service).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Goals for this month:- Be in winners circle (track everything, keep under budget, 20+ mins exercise per day, no more than 3 pass days)
- Stay between 75kg and 70kg (slow transition to maintenance and trying not to go too slow that I go too low)
- Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month) and continue past failings (forgive mistakes and keep moving forward)
- Encourage others where possible
Biggest change to last month is the maintenance work.
Congratulations to all those who made circle last month. Congratulations to all those who made it to the end of last month (even if not in the circle). Lastly, Congratulations too to all returning July UAC members (you know what you are in for, but still fronted up).
To all newcomers, welcome. Look forward to hearing more about you as the month progresses.
To all returning, welcome back. Was a great group last month.
UAC is a challenge (and not a an easy one - as those last month can attest). However, it is probably the most worthwhile challenge on MFP as it is about building the right habits irrespective of your personal goals. We are all doing the same thing, trying to achieve and maintain health. It's not done in a day, a week or even a month. It's a continual and gradual process. Also take time out on occasions to look how far you have come (you may find it surprising).
Back on topic, as of this morning, I am 2.4kg UNDER target weight of 75kg (I weigh daily). This is why the goal of stay between 75 and 70. I've adjusted my daily calorie target. The following is my excerpt from end of July.
"End of month, time to re-assess daily limits. Was on 6276kj per day (1500 kcal). As I am now 2kg below my initial goal weight (est. 12% body fat), time to transition to maintenance. MFP calculates my maintenance at 8201kj per day (1960 kcal). That's a full extra meal (and I have days where I struggle to get to 1500 kcal).
Plan is to increase daily limit for first week by 418kj (100 kcal). The following week daily limit increase of another 418kj (100 kcal) and so on until weight loss stops. I am wary that a sudden increase will bounce the weight dramatically (which is the last thing I want after working so hard)."
Todays walk earned me almost and extra 1000 kcal. Had to drop the car off for service. It's only 2km from the low point of my long walk, so I decided to walk home, then walk back to pick it up afterwards. Because I walk the distance normally, I knew how long it would take (4.3 miles - can do in just under an hour - 1200ft elevation gain - I walk fast )
So ate a little into my exercise calories today (but still WELL under my expected limit).
I'm expecting this month to be a little tougher on me than the last few because of the transition to maintenance. I'll keep you all informed how my journey goes.
Also if needing any assistance, please reach out to me. More than happy to help when I can.
Wishing every UAC member a good month.
(p.s. Helping administer another challenge on MFP (weight loss focused). Running a weekly UAC within that challenge (1 pass day permitted per ween instead of 3 per month). Running as a trial to see how it compares to non-UAC teams. Will report in general on how it progresses).10 -
Really fog is giving me an issue this morning? Only got 3 miles in before the thunder and lightning yesterday but at least it held off till we got something done. I am fighting the weight fluctuations but according to my daughter the others that did the drug trial have gained a lot of weight. I keep telling myself every week I have less residuals residing in me. Til later have a great day!!6
-
Put on my pink cardigan and my flamingos skirt. Lol. I really wish I had not listened to my daughter and bought the skirt with the hidden monkeys in it. I had put it on and she liked it til I said can you see what your not supposed to see . After a while she went OMG oh no you don't there are monkey's all over that skirt. She doesn't know about this skirt and the flamingos are not hidden. I bought it when I saw all the reviews were from seniors in Florida. They're so right this skirt is great. Lol8

August 1st
Looking forward to starting a new month with all of you.
Good luck to everyone who is participating.
My goals are pretty much the same as last month.
Focusing on my workouts and strength training, regular walks with the woofies as usual, and sticking to the calories calculated by MFP (1320) but will also use some of the exercise calories, especially after a good burn that day when needed.
Also intend on getting a bike this month, so bike riding will be part of my daily activities with any luck. Haven't rode a bike in 20 years so that should be fun, lol.
So today...
Exercised?: Yes.
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Feeling much better today, so been pretty active all day.
Workouts:
Started off with a 3K jog this morning (taking two, 1 min breaks for water), then 30mins on the cross trainer on it's highest setting. If I'm gonna get a bike, I'm gonna need to work that leg muscle, lol.
Walking:-
Took my daughter to a friends house, 80min walk round trip, had a late dinner, then took the dogs for a 60min walk, mostly flat terrain.
Total steps walked today: 16,293 - distance travelled: 10km (6.3miles)
Total calories burned: 1401
........xx

Pinch punch first of the month!
Well done to all of last month's winners and I'm glad that our capitan El Ranger has remembered to include himself again.
Great starts from our all blacks @PaisleyFlower and @aeshippers . Hope you settle well into maintenance @Craigo46 and thanks to @2020pinktogo for starting us off with bright fashion!
@trixsey1 wow loads of walking and jogging. I'm also thinking about getting my bike out of the shed (not been used since I found out I was pregnant 2ish years ago) and serviced and getting a child seat for it. Good luck to us!
Exercise: yes.
30minutes zumba dvd with an 18month old joining in is pretty special!
60 lengths of the pool (ha, not such a massive improvement from my 20 last weekend. There was a divider up in the pool at 25m for kids classes the other half so would have been 30. 1.5km anyway.
And a walk along the river. It's tricky with an 18month old and walks in making sure I get the balance of what's healthy for me and what's healthy for her so it can't be too long. We got stuck behind a massive shire horse towing an old barge full of tourists for a bit which she liked.
Just over 11000 steps today.
Calories: yes. First day of my new reduced amount. I reset my mfp target to losing 2 pounds a week as frustratingly I'd stopped losing 1 pound a week when I kept to the amount it gave me then.
Tracking: everything!6 -
Gosh, you're all absolutely brilliant - not sure what I've let myself in for! But I can see this group can help me stay motivated, accountable and on track.
Exercise: Yes - 40 minutes of swimming in a 50m pool - I never realised what a long way that is! I also just made my 10,000 steps, the last couple of hundred by making rounds of my apartment. It's so hot and humid in Dubai in summer, so the moment you step outside you're absolutely drenched in sweat - very unpleasant and not exactly conducive to exercising outside. But at least it ups my water intake!
Calories: Yes - I had to grab something from Tim Hortons for lunch and the menu here is different to the US or Canada, so I have no idea of the total calories in what I had to eat and drink. I just picked the closest sounding thing and with the deficit in calories from the exercise I should be OK.
Tracking: Yes - I've been on MFP on and off for several years now but can probably count on my fingers the number of times I properly tracked and closed out my diary. Today was one of those times! Woot!9 -
Hello folks.
Congratulations to all those who made the winners circle. I'm full of admiration for the consistent hard work you've put in over the month! Well done !
I'm back for a second month and hope to do better than last time !
My goals for this month are :
calories : stick to my MFP allowance 1540/day plus exercise (if needed)
Steps : 70 000/week
Alcohol : only 2 days/week
other exercise : 60mins/week
Weight loss : 2kg
Today was 3 x YES for me .
1h15 walking plus gardening
Calories 400 odd to spare
Tracked everything.
Night all :-)8 -

I tracked and stayed in my cals
As I'm feeling under the weather today I done exactly no exercise, I baked with my daughter and we created these little lovelies .. I will not be allowed to have one as the calories are through the roof, I may try fit one into tomorrows calorie allowance (if there's one left

Exercise? Yes; an hour walk
Calories? Yes
Tracking? Yes
Hello, all!
Summer has been extremely busy, and I filtered out last month towards the end. My goal this month is to sign-in everyday, even when I don't track. Having you all on my mind, keeps me accountable. Thanks for that!
Another goal is to be active everyday and make it to the gym to do strength workouts at least 12 times. I will be be heading to Canada on Sunday for 8 days of camping and hiking. It will be tough to keep track, especially when I'm not sure what kind of reception I will have, but I'll do my best. I'm planning on timing our hikes and wearing a heart monitor, so I'll be able to track my calories.
My final goal is to maintain my weight. I am very happy where I am, and would be ecstatic to stay here. That being said, I wouldn't be sad to lose a few pounds either Next month, I begin an intense master's program, so I'm going to enjoy my last month of summer and not stress about lowering the number on a scale.
I wish you all the best this month! I'm excited to see how everyone does, and I'll be rooting for you along the way!7 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes got 7 miles in before heading home and did 20 minutes of bodyweight training.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes

(7.11 / 140) Mile Goal
Cheers to a great start.10 -
Happy August to everyone old and new. For the experienced group I am very glad to see you guys back for another month and to all the new member a very heartfelt welcome! I am really looking forward to sharing your journey with you!
First goals from last month
1. To be in the winner's circle
2. Maintain a Positive attitude(as I believe attitude is everything) If I BELIEVE I can do it than I CAN! If I do not believe I can't, for me plain and simple...........lol ...........NOT!
3. Reach the 30lb loss mark. I am at 26.8 right now.
4. Support and encourage all my fellow teammates! I am here for you.
I was in the winners circle, I did not make my weight loss goal but the good news is that during my first 6 weeks recovery I did lose 1.2lbs. I was worried about that time as I knew my exercise would be pretty slow going, so not a lot of burnt calories. I have to admit I found July much harder than June as I was feeling better but not able to do a lot. Boredom set in and a little bit of feeling sorry for myself. Both these are eating triggers for me I did succumb a couple of times but due to this group I picked myself up each day and made the most of it. My attitude and support to others was not there as much in July.
Goals for this month
1. To be in the winners circle
2. to get healthier
3. to reach the 30lb mark
4. To use no more than 1/2 my exercise calories daily with the exception of my birthday
5. To have a positive attitude, with the belief that, I CAN DO THIS, and to be there to support and encourage all of you.
I almost lost the winners circle twice over the weekend as I wanted to go out for fish and chips so bad but the thought of admitting on here stopped me. I also wanted to have more than one Palm Bay but switched to water as again I did not want to lose the winners circle over them...lol Don't be surprised if I use a pass day soon to enjoy fish & chips with some ice cold palm bays...lol.....

Hi everybody! Welcome new members. I have gotten into a habit of lots of cardio because I enjoy being outside. - Cycling, walking, hiking hills, gardening. This month I plan to add some strength training back in. In July with the help of this challenge I got rid of the annoying 4 pounds that I swear was all ice cream and chocolate. Generally I eat healthy, with lots of fresh fruits and veggies and lean protein, but when I get off track it is for those two!
The other thing I want to be more conscience of is macros. @craigo3154 has shared a lot of thoughts on this. I don't eat a lot of processed carbs, but I eat lots of root veggies and some grains.
Today: 30 minutes bootcamp training and lots of squats and lunges before work and a 15 mile cycle after work.
Tracked and under calories.

@Slimpossible007 The owl cuppies are just adorable. Great job, really!
3 yeses today. I'm back again after starting with UAC last month under a different name. I'm Crystal, and am so glad that this group is staying alive and thriving! I know it certainly is helping me to.

Keep to the UAC rules...obviously.
Lose an average of 1 pound a week.
Maintain my plate-method of eating everyday.
Remember to do your best everyone, don't beat yourself up over mistakes and slip-ups, and reach out to your fellow group members whenever you need a pep talk. We're here for each other! Let's make this an incredible success of a month all!!9 -

The accountability part helped a bit for me... I resisted a bagel at a meeting because I thought how embarrassed I'd be to drop out ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE CHALLENGE
My goal this month is simply to be one of the winners in this challenge.9 -

@Slimpossible007 Those owls are adorable.
A good day. Lots of disarray in our house today but I succeeded in keeping on track. Day 1 has been a success. We are putting new windows in so there was a lot of noise, dust, and things out of order.7 -
@cc3833 I did not ride my horse today, but I did have farm activity. I'm a recreational rider with quarter horse type paint horses.
My report:
Exercise: enough to make the goal, and do work around the farm
Calories: one of the few days that MFP told me I should eat more.
Tracking: good9
