If you are just getting back into exercise, please heed this recommendation...no one can increase their exercise every day. You must get rest. An active rest day can be a stroll or a brisk walk. Please take the long view and take care of yourself.

3 yesses for me today.
Needed to take the car in to work today as I had to leave early to attend my citizenship ceremony. I'm now officially a kiwi, woohoo!
Got on the exercise bike for 30 minutes this evening and did my 20 minute strength routine.
Tracking and calories were fine even though I treated myself to sushi for dinner after the ceremony.13 -
Like your graphic for today Rick. Feeling a bit lacking in the sunshine and air at the moment, even when I bike there's no sun yet but the days are getting noticably longer now so it'll be better soon. Then I'll be complaining about the heat when I'm biking

August 3
Exercised?: Yes. Walked 7 Km in 61 mins (hills).
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Same walk as yesterday. More German and Japanese . Not much else to report.
@aeshippers. Congratulations on officially being a Kiwi. Busy, tiring days are both the best and the worst. No time to think, just autopilot. But looks like the habits you have built are helping you out.
@Minisumoh. You are doing great. Just work your way in slowly to the exercise. Too hard, too quick and you risk burn-out and injury. Waterpark (walking, swimming, sliding) sounds like the right sort of exercise.
@Slimpossible007. 26 miles is a fantastic ride. Don't think I could ride that far at the moment.
@RangerRickL. Great to have a night out. Must organise one with my wife sometime soon.
@fourathomej. BodyCombat class. Should I be worried.
@loopydo2017. Easy to go over if you do not think while you eat. (ie. Best not to have dinner infront of TV) Well done for being honest.
@salty_runner_girl. Now I think you understand how much of a challenge this can be. Well worth the effort though.
Thought for the day: "Ibuprofen can cause fluid retention."
(When I heard this, I did the research through the medical papers. And yes it is true).

Calling for rain so checking in before I loose you all. Let's see hubby went to the Dr. After a lot of persuasion then on to the emergency room. My husband is the absolute worst patient ever. Hoping this does the trick. Would love if the rain holds off till late tonight but they are calling for it to start soon. Will fave to do the elliptical and when I get home do the treadmill.6

August 3rd
Exercised?: Yes
Calories?: Yes.
Tracked?: Yes.
Workouts:
Started my morning with a 35 min jog. Did 40 mins of strength training using 3kg weights (6 pound), then 30mins on the cross trainer (highest setting).
Walking:-
Walked to a mate's house (30mins). Had a couple of hours there (logged beverages) then took the dogs for a walk (110 mins), mixed terrain and hills.
Total steps walked today: 12,893 - distance travelled: 8km (5miles)
Total calories burned: 1699
Total calories consumed: 1371 / 1320 (extra 51 calories from exercise added to my last meal of the day - extra calories consumed today due to drinks round at my mates)
Weather is even worse than yesterday, so trudging through mud, rain and braving the winds. Dogs were totally ditched from nose to tail - should have added extra exercise calories trying to get them in the shower! That was a battle in itself, lol.
Hope everyone's had a good day today!

7 weeks today since my back surgery. I was allowed to walk without my walker, I now have to use poles, which I can handle. Great news, I am up to 1K walking but it still takes me over 20 minutes..lol.....that distance will increase and the time will decrease eventually but I am super happy. I am attempting to do twice a day, some days it works, some it doesn't, I need to let my back decide. WOOHOO!
@Slimpossible007 Congratulations on your bike ride. WOW! 26 miles.
@trixsey1 What a burn!
@fightingthetideofaging your exercise continues to inspire me!
@2020pinktogo I am so happy your husband finally went to the doctor. Hopefully they can help him and it will ease some of your burden!
@phoebelayla it is so good to see you back. Happy August! Hope you had great holidays
@aeshippers CONGRATULAtions. Hope you enjoyed your sushi.
@Craigo3154 I had no idea ibuprofen could cause water retention. Luckily it is not something I use anymore! Thank you for researching this.
It is a better day on Vancouver Island. The smoke from the interior fires has been bad here for a couple of days. I am so grateful we are not anywhere near them as even with the smoke here I had 2 days of sinus problems. I hate to sound like I am complaining as I would much rather have the sinus problem then the problems they are having
Hope everyone has a good day. Remember keep smiling!

exercise in the form of stretching body weight exercise and bike miles ... I have only done 5 miles so far .. but planing on another 5 then a bath and a film then bed.
@pribud I know what you mean by its easy to walk in the pool (due to the boyancy) but its also difficult to move through .. Amazing work
@marthall great thinking fitting a walk in during work
seen a few passes today, I passed on the 1st .. never mind on wards and upwards to a better remainder of the month
TY @pribud and @craigo3154 the 26 took it out of me but its done now and the scales are smiling upon me .. so its all worth the effort9 -

@shonat11 we have had so much rain that the lines that are under ground you see the Verizon guys come now in wet suits. Originally they slipped on white suits . I'm not sure what is going on but if it rains for a half hour or more we loose verizon. Actually everything cell phone land line internet not sure what's happening. Just glad I live close enough to everything I could need if an emergency happens.

August 3 is a pass day for me. First one and it's early yet. Exercised and tracked, but went over on calories today. My problem was being too lax when lunchtime came. I didn't make a plan ahead of time so one thing led to another and I'm almost 200 calories over budget. Lesson learned...plan, plan, plan ahead. Tisk tisk. Lol5

@Gus130 take care of yourself! Rest when your body says rest.
@RangerRickL with all the comments on the posts about rain a bet we could vote for sunshine to be the Chief surgeon. Love the post.
Did strength exercises and yoga. First day in a long time--- at least a month ---that I did no cardio. So why was I SO hungry today? Stayed in calories and tracked.4 -
A rough day but managed 3 for 3!! I biked tonight for 30 minutes. A nice change from walking or going to the gym. @Slimpossible007 thanks for the inspiration.
We got our outdoor deck ready to be stained and I did more clean-up and shopping for our new windows and the deck. I really struggle to stay on course when I am out of routine. I am not good with outter disorder. Thank-you UAC; I knew I had to report in and did not want to take another pass day. This accountability group works for me. Yay!!6 -
Yes, yes and yes. Rough day but made it!
