Gonna be a pass day -- tracked everything and did over an hour of exercise, but the calories just ran away from me today. I'm not proud of myself, especially since I fly tomorrow, but facts are facts.
It happens. Don't be hard on yourself. A new day tomorrow. You can do it!2 -
fitastic2day wrote: »August 3 is a pass day for me. First one and it's early yet. Exercised and tracked, but went over on calories today. My problem was being too lax when lunchtime came. I didn't make a plan ahead of time so one thing led to another and I'm almost 200 calories over budget. Lesson learned...plan, plan, plan ahead. Tisk tisk. Lol
It happens. As above, don't be hard on yourself. You've learned from it. I'm still learning from my set backs. We just have to keep trying! Good luck!2 -
Well done to everyone for being honest about struggles. This journey is hard and we all have challenging days. One day at a time, one meal at a time, one work out at a time (whatever form that takes) we will get there!3

Yes x 3. We rented tubes and floated down a river for 2.5 hours today. I love being in the water so I spent an hour of it swimming and pushing my husband and our tubes. Most enjoyable workout I've had in awhile!
@pribud we are at a retreat centre on the island! It's beautiful out here but between that smoke and the humidity, the past few days the air has felt heavy! Today seemed much less hazy.
(My first time trying to quote someone, lets see if it works!)4 -

Exercise: Yes, 1.5 hours cycle to Whitby and back along Cinder Track (approx 15 miles), very windy and hard work. It's been a while since I last rode my bike and I feel the effort. Also 15 mins yoga.
Calories: Yes, 2000 consumed vs 2800 used.
Tracked: yes
Calorie targets are easier to hit with lots of exercise, but I know from experience that if I do too much exercise I find it harder to find a sweet spot for a negative calorie balance without feeling too hungry.
Friday night we are going camping for a long weekend, which means restricted food/cooking options (availability of snack foods) and any exercise will have to fit in with family plans (some walks hopefully if the weather holds). It will probably be key that I plan my food consumption. Will have internet access so no excuse not to track and update.5 -

Exercise~ Yes 30 min stretching, 130 crunches for the Ab Challenge (I was only suppose to do 120, but my son was the counter and he forgot to say STOP. Yeah, he's grounded!), and 3.25 mile walk/run. The air quality here is still bad from the wildfires and running was quite a challenge! My heart rate monitor hit a # that I have never seen before. Tomorrow is a lifting day so at least I won't have to deal with that tomorrow.
Tracking~ Yes
Calories~ Way under for 3 reasons 1) I slept in. Needed that! 2) exercised at dusk to avoid the heat and 3) I simply ran out of time in this day and had to start deleting "planned food" off my diary. Bet I am going to wake up HUNGRY!6 -
3 yesess. Walked around for 60 minutes at 1pm. Kept all my calories in check. Drank alota water5

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yup, ate back 50% of exercise calories
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yup! Yup!3 -
Thank you all for your great support. I am halfway done with chemo now, but still sick. I will be past this soon!
@gus130 - A friend of mine went through chemo a few years back and she was sick all the way through, she was a runner before the chemo and during it she couldn't run the length of herself, about a month after she was finished her last treatment she was up and at em again, slowly to start with but shes full of beans once again ... stick with the plan you are an inspiration to us all with your determination each day.fourathomej wrote: »@Slimpossible007 wow...26... i don't think i would be feeling my bum after that...lol

Pass Day #1
Going out to eat put me over my calorie goal. It was delicious, though2 -
Lots of posts to read today.........love it!
A reminder to everyone that is using pass days, do not beat yourself up over this, they are there for a reason and we all use them now and then. Yesterday is the past, leave it there and focus on the present, the gift of a new day
I am thankful for this group everyday.
@gus130 woohoo you will get through this! I think of you daily! What an inspiration you are to all of us! I am cheering for you!

@craigo3154
Thought for the day: "Ibuprofen can cause fluid retention."
(When I heard this, I did the research through the medical papers. And yes it is true).
[/quote]
This happened to me actually! Ibuprofen reacts badly with me and I retain fluid. It is a strange side effect !
